Had a problem with the first one I bought. Academy replaced the whole combo no questions asked.

If you find it on sale, grab the combo...not bad for the price. They don't seem to be very durable...but you get what you pay for in this case.

As far as bargain level baitcasters go, I prefer the Daiwa Strike Force which you can get for $25 at Academy when they go on sale. Better yet, just wait until they put the H20 Mettle on sale...it blows both of the above reels out of the water imo.

I have 2 and use the crud outta them!!! I have never been one to spend over 100 bux for a rod/reel combo so these work well for me... Also academy's H2O Mettle/Castaway combo I found on sale for 59.00 works awesome too!

I have been looking at the H2O Mettle, its $99 for the combo right now. I did see the Black Max combo for $34.99 at Academy this week in College Station.
