Where is this Karen? Boat U.S. totaled my boat but then won't insure my new boat. I had insurance with them for eleven months. They had a guy there the next day. He totaled my boat so I purchased another boat then was told that they do not insure anyone who has had a claim in last three years. Guess they don't want any of their money back.
So I need bob or Karen's number if you can.
Hit under water rock hump on Lake Broken Bow in Feb. Fracture the lower unit. Cowing knocked off in the water.broke all the structure in the back of the boat.

Two friends of mine HAD Progressive, both got denied their clams. One hit a log on Choke and I pulled him in. They told him it was normal wear and tear, no claim allowed. The other hit an underwater tree, he was told the jack plate was installed wrong and would not pay for anything. If you have Progressive you're paying for nothing and they'll bail when you need them, In my opinion. Randy. Think hard if you have it. I'll give you their numbers if you wish to talk to them.

Has anybody ever gone to trial with any of these claims?

Has anyone ever had to invoke their appraisal clause and hire their own surveyor? And what do ya do after you have had your boat surveyed by your hired certified marine surveyor , we have sent our copy of our report to the insurance hired surveyor . We were told we were going to have have an arbitratior look at both reports . The insurance hired surveyor sent us a couple of arbitratior names , but we rejected them . So we sent the insurance surveyor some of our arbitratior names that are member of Nams and SAMs . We are on our ninth day waiting for a response from the insurance hired surveyor . In my policy it states if both surveyor can not decide on an arbitratior we can take the claim to a judge. Has anyone ever issues like this? Come to find out the insurance hired surveyor is not even a certified marine surveyor . The guy who surveyd my boat for insurance doesn't even have the credential to survey !

The appraisal clause is for disputes ($$ amount of loss) on covered damages..Does the policy say both parties have to hire a Marine Surveyor???

Policy does say we would have to hire and pay for a certified surveyor. I have hired accredited marine surveyor . We have already submitted several names to the insurance hired surveyor . Policy states if both surveyor can not decide on an arbitrator with in 15 days we could get a county judge to pick the arbitrator . It has now been 10 days and we have not heard from the insurances hired surveyor. Come to find out the insurance hired surveyor is not even ACMS or CMS certified . He had no buisness surveying my boat .

what was the cause of your loss? collision?? what were the damages?

Guess that's how they beat the other rates. (by not paying off)

I have Progressive and have not had any problem with them.
