been reading a lot about deadsticking for hybrids, and having grown up in michigan, couldnt help but think it is very similar to ice fishing, in the sense you are vertically jigging a shad imiator very slowly...and then I remembered a killer lure for bass and walleye and pike when jigged through the ice...and I thought, man I bet these would KILL on hybrids and whites in cold water. gonna order a couple and try em...maybe some of you hard core deadstickers might want to try it too?

If it got trebles, it is trouble for me. My mission when fishin' is to avoid the Dr.'s office. grin

That lure looks a lot like a flitter bait from smack tackle. I bought a few of these myself..

I am from Wisconsin did a ton of ice fishing the first 38 years of my life up there using those lures and thought the same thing. It did not work for me. Good Luck

The jigging rap swims in a big circle so it really is not a slow presentation lure such as deadsticking with plastics. It might work better in the spring or when more aggressive bite.

fastguy, head north...keep going north until you see people walking on water (yankees can do that!), and use your tipups there. when done fishing with your tip ups, buy a snow shovel and strap it to your truck, come back south until someone asks you what it is, and you are back home.

Thats a good looking lure. It looks like a small trap bait. I dont argue with people on the effectiveness of traps. They are probably one of the best producers of all times, but I wont fish a 2 treble bait for whites. If you put 50+ fish a trip in the boat, it is only a matter of time before ya get a hook in your hand. I had a pretty big striper attached to the back hook on a trap about ten years ago. While I was trying to get the hook out, he made a crazy flop and the front treble buried itself in the knuckle of my middle finger. To make matters worse, I dropped the fish. Then he was jerking wildly attached directly to my finger by a hook. I was screaming like a girl eeks This went on for what seemed like an hour. I think I even tried to Stop Drop and Roll to make it all go away. Finally I just grabbed the hook with pliers and yanked hard as I could. My finger still does not bend all the way like it used to. Anyway, thats my Trap story. Its not that I dont think they catch fish, its just that I'm a little scared of them still. Sometimes I wont even go down the hard bait isle at WalMart anymore. grin

There is a difference between Flitterbaits and the darter. The Flitterbait is heavier(half oz.) but has that same turn at the top of the lift. I think the Flitterbait has a better action as well. It has a serious vibrating wiggle to it. The Flitterbait can not only be jigged, but it can be cast and worked just about any way you want to.
