Lester, that's interesting about using corn to catch bream; I don't think I've ever heard of that. My favorite bait for bream is a maggot on a #10 or #12 long shanked wire hook. You might not think it, but the maggot is very tough, and one will generally catch several bream before you have to replace it.

I have a bream trap that a man made me from Ok., and it catches all the bream you need. You just drop dry dog food in the cylinder in the middle and drop it off a dock and wait. Sharon

Yall try this one...instead of baiting the trap with some kind of food item, drop in an empty Coke or Bud can, and watch the bream come into the trap. I saw some professional catfish boys do this one on Toledo Bend when I was getting started trotlining, and they'd fill their traps with sunfish for bait.
That one really blew my mind!

What is the reason for the putting the empty Coke or Bud can in the trap?

You don't want to put a full one in there. Those fellas told me it resembles bread, hey, don't ask me, but it works.
Try it sometime.

Mr Wiggles,
I went last Saturday to Samuels Farm off I80 just past belt line in Mesquite. It was raining off and on that day so they were about the only thing bitting. They have 13 ponds on property and lots of brehm. I used long shank brehm hooks and worm. Caught about 50 or so in an hour. Various sizes. It is also free to get in out there now.
Happy Fishing, Michelle
