One of my customers has a great solution for carrying a floatpro with out a truck bed. The light, folding trailer was designed for kayaks but adjusted perfectly for the foam pontoons. The brand name is Yakima and they are available at Cabelas and other places. Pretty slick.

how powerful of a trolling motor are you using on your boat? i can get my hands on a 28lb for real cheap but im afraid ill get board with it and think its not enough. i weigh about 180 plus maybe 10lbs of tackle, then the battery.

I have'nt put a trolling motor on one of mine (yet). It's been foot power so far.

Rough estimate with 60# battery and 20# wt. motor maybe 3 mph for 2 hours if the short version can handle the weight including your other equipment. This is a drift design boat not meant for speed, distance or fighting wind or river current. Great little boat for positioning yourself close to shore in comfort without having to stay on the bank. Boats with pointed, torpedo shaped hulls are faster and can go further. Just yesterday, the constables were in full force at 311 bridge and questioned me about my boat, because of not allowing foam or glass on the guad, glad I had my inflatable.

so where do you guys fish with these things? I don't have a boat and these seem to be really awesome... where in DFW to you fish with it?

The cool thing about a kickboat is you can fish any area where there is access to water. Grapevine, Lewisville and Lake Arlington are good. There are also some small lakes north of Decatur on the LBJ Grasslands. You dont need a ramp- just a gentle sloping bank to crawl in and out of.

You can fish waters that are unreachable by any other means. Inflatable versions are packed into isolated Alpine lakes. They are especially good floating rivers where you are in a protected area. Very shallow sections can be crossed more easily that with a kayak, if you use the lightweight inflatable models.

They are not good in windy open water. Rough water or big waves can be an issue, unless you are going with the flow in river rapids. They are not good in fast or busy larger boat traffic because of wakes or chance of being run over.
