Most of the wallymarts here in Arlington have Berkley trout dough and powereggs so you might check your local w-m.

What a big fat hose job. Arlington got completely ignored this year. They are dumping 4000 trout in to a river w/ a consumption ban on it and putting another 1700 into a park that is closed half the time and the pond is in ruff shape due to drilling. (Kennedale)
Thanks for nothing TP&W. I sent off a much more civially stated email w/ the same complaints to the TPWD the day the schedule came out and I just got this reply: Thanks for your interest in fishing and the rainbow trout program. The stocking sites are usually chosen based on an agreement with a City of controlling entity in which TPWD stocks trout at a site and the partner also agrees to provide fish to supplement the TPWD stocking or to provide another stocking date. Last year the City of Arlington was a partner. Unfortunately this year we were unable to form an agreement.
You are correct that we are stocking trout into the Trinity River that now has a consumption advisory. There is no longer a ban. The ban extended from the 7St bridge in Fort Worth to southeast of Dallas . This area did not include Trinity Park and River Park .
We are able to stock this area with trout because of the limited time they are exposed to any contaminants. We believe they will not accumulate any harmful toxins in the 3 months or so they are in the River. However we are going to be testing these fish and determine if they are accumulating any toxins. If all goes well, the fish consumption advisory will be amended to exclude rainbow trout from the consumption advisory list.
Thanks again for your interest.

I called the office of the one dumping at Hurst and asked that question, she told me they would leave there(Athens) at 8am, so it would be however long it took them to drive up there.

Everyone seems to be focusing on pellet type bait will these trout not readily take moving lures like small inline spinners?

For all of you that are worried about Trinity Park and River Park...just fish at a different location. That will mean more fish for those of us that fish it every year.

Trout dough does work better but I've taken them on a super duper and panther martins before too. You won't hit your limit nearly as fast on lures and if they are not really biting good you may never get touched. They have been fed all thier life and then they get dumped in a pond where people are tossing in bread to the ducks and corn to them. I'm thinking they are not the fiercest preditors in the world...

I always put some trout dough on the bottom and then suspend some under a bobber a couple of feet down and leave them in rod holders while I toss a small spoon or inline spinner around. I just went to academy last night and stocked up on panther martins and slip bobbers. Taking the kids crappie fishing in the creeks is hell on my slip bobber stock...
