Report: slowish Rained, clouded up the water and it rose about 3-4 inches. Lots of current, but some of the bigg girls came out. My client lost a nice 2+ lber at the boat, as the first fish of the day. Steady slow bite till the north wind came, and it died. A fish every 20-30 mins. -Still pulled some quality fish out though. But, one of my previous client (had to post it dude) was out fishing near us and caught a 3.9 lb crappie. My scale might be a bit off though...? (see pic below)

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Your right Lovfldx, walked the creek from Lawther 2 bends past the dart rail over pass. saw a few small crappie caught. gess I'll have to find a spot where I can put my 10ft boat in and check out that Skillman bridge. that or just keep fishin my main lake deep spots that produce year round.

Went to WRC for the 1st time today. Launch at the Lawther bridge at 8:30am. Saw a few fishing from the bridge and noticed that 2 guys were fishing through the drainage grate. Went down the creek 1st hitting every brush pile and cover but NOTHING not even a nibble. Fished at 1ft to 14ft depth and changed jig colors, but to no avail. Work my way back up the creek and pass Lawther bridge paddled until it got really shallow (2-3 feet of water) I even resorted to using live shad that my friend caught with his cast net. Still not a nibble. Heard good things about WRC on here I guess today wasn't a good day for WRC....or was I doing something wrong?
I may give it another try. This the 1st time I have ever been skunked in a creek.

Beaten by fish line wrap on beer cans... and me and my buddy were making fun of those guys with the cans. guess the laugh was on us. I saw that log when I paddled up and down that area. Figured those guys were hanging there for a reason. There's that big hole just north of lawther where all those people were fishing. Me and my buddy probably pissed some of them off while navigating between their bobbers... oh well, but also had compliments on my Hobie kayak. Not sure I want to fish around a lot of people like that. There's gotta be others holes that won't be as crowded.

I fished the hole next to the Abrams RD and got nothing and it only looked about 4ft deep any way. walked down to the Skillman bridge hole and got nothing and it was at best 6ft deep, watched 4 others get nothing. went back to the Lawther bridge {still open} and seen a guy fishing that 6in x 6in drain hole again, oh well what ever it takes, and fished next spot over from "the log" because the "beer canners" were still holding that spot, and got nothing. some one needs to post when there actually in WRC. those pictures had to have been taken under the NWH bridge, none of the other bridges look the same. before the NWH bridge the creek is 9ft deep, have not gone under the new bridge yet...

One keeper at WRC today. The water was dead. Saw about 4 sandies on a stringer but that was between 3 guys. Yesterday there was a 10 per person average. Today was plain wierd. Hit RC on the way back and caught about 20 on jigs, but they were all dinks. Slowest day this year.

At least ya'll got one, good job...the shad pulled back out thats why there's no birds on the creek like last Thursday...the birds will tell us when there back in...I hope they dam it for a few months so they'll stack up around the NWH bridge where boats from the lake can get there, It's better then walking in the MUD!!!

I was fishing close to the guys with beer cans using jigs. Caught one keeper crappie. They were reeling in crappie and yellow bass one after another. They were using a bottom rig with two small hooks and of all things, cut bait. Never seen anybody catch crappie on cut bait, but they were doing it.

sometimes, in fact, most of the time, it's NOT cut crappie, but cut yellow bass, at least on WRC it is.
