Took my 11yr. old son last night to the pier on whiterock to teach him how to jig.Had a blast,caught some nice crappies.He realy injoyed the thump he felt when they hit.

whats up fellas happy thanks giving to all. I c everybody talking about the crappies and wanna know how i can catch me some i live not to far from whiterock so i wanna give it a try at at those crappie.I bought some fishing jig hooks and green tube jigs do these things work and how to i "JIG" i jus need a couple of tips to get me started thanx for the help AND HAVE A SAFE ONE

use light line , if your fishing from a pier or a bridge fish as close to the bottom 90 percent of the time . jig it (sometimes one twittch sometimes 2 ) , swim it , hold it still, of lift it up by hand 1 to 1.5 ft . go at productive times ( usually right at sunset ) , if fishing the banks use lighted bobbers set at 18 inches to 48 inches . cast it out twitch bobber , let rest and repeat as you work the bobber close to bank .

wannacatfish, also check out Carey's (TarponFly) video series in this same Bank Fishing forum... They do a great job of explaning the art of crappie fishing.
