Made pretty good progress this evening. As I said yesterday I got to the point in laying the strips that I could turn and run down the center of the boat. Makes it easier to make some progress as you don't have the twists of the hull to contend with.

Hit one small spot just a little with a sander to see how she was going to clean up. Gonna be just fine.

Also started doing some initial shaping on the Bow in preperation for building the stems.

that is awesome
when you put the final piece in, what do you do?
do you scribe it somehow, for a perfect fit

Yeah, I just lay it on the boat and bend it to the proper angle, mark it with a pencil and then take over to the belt sander and make it fit.

Well I had a little time to work on the stripper. Finished stripping the hull this afternoon.

It was still early so I decided to give the boat a rough sanding, just to get an idea what it is going to look like.

I am really liking the shape of the hull.

More to come tomorrow.

HOLY COW. Now that looks good, cant wait to see the finished product. How did the knee surgery go. I know what it is like to have one redone, had 4 on one knee in three years, but got it fixed and good to go for anything now. SO good luck on both the boat and the knee.

The insurance company denied the surgery, instead sent me to rehab. Of course it did not work so I don't know what is going to happen at the moment.

They did that to me the first time as well, but the knee kept getting worse and the Ortho finally got it thru their head that it was only gonna get worse.

Finished sanding the boat this afternoon. I know a lot of people don't care too much about sanding but I kinda like it because as you sand you can start to get an idea of what she is going to look like. I really am liking this boat, may be my best so far.

I also started building the external stems. The Bow was not too bad to get right.

The Stern took a little doing and several tries before I got the curve to bend without splintering.

looking great! can you give us an idea of cost to build it? I've been looking to build since I finally have a garage but I've been nervous about the prices of it, tools aside
