Ran over this guy while doing some bush hogging yesterday, he was cut in half by the blades so I put him down with a .22 to the head. The eyes are round but the head is viper shaped. I'm thinking non-venomous, but that head shape has me wondering.

+1

Shot one of those walking a dirt road at the deer lease a long time ago. I thought it was a rattle snake at first so I blew the s*$% out of it, but it wasn't.

Nuh uh, I've owned TX rats before, that doesn't look right. The head on that one is triangular - rat snake heads are more oval and blend gently into the neck. If you still have the head and it isn't destroyed, look for the presence of fangs.

Round Iris here in the States means non-venomous, UNLESS, it's a Coral snake. Fortunately you don't need to get that close to figure out what a coral snake is!
