I kind of prefer that clear stuff in the Mason jar my friend Waldo gets from one of the guys just outside town in those hills in western North Carolina. It is always very smooth.

Have fun with this stuff.

I had two fingers of "Uncle Sherman's" out of a jar, near the Ohio river. Our host then said, "Gentleman, you are officially drunk!"

I may have found a new tying material. That foil on whiskey bottle tops may make a nice lead substitute.

Excellent line of thought, sir. I keep saving the beautiful foils from wine bottles with little idea (beyond, vaguely, maybe, wing cases) of what to do with them.

A little something I picked up in Eire when there on my honeymoon 10 years ago...

Numbered and with a certificate of authenticity. Seems fancy though I've yet to crack it.

I recently remembered that I have a half-pint (or 200ml, if you prefer) of Jack Daniel's Green. Grandpa took them on duck hunting trips. I am only allowed to open it once a year. On 12/2 I pour a small shot and say, "Thank you, happy birthday Bop Hyde."

There is a problem - there is only one finger left. It might last through next year. Would it it be wrong to refill it? I don't think so, as long I keep his bottle.

Yesterday, Bop Hyde would have been 101 years old.

many years ago that lil ol distillery in Lynchburg produced some stuff with a Green Label that was aged 12 months, it was called "Lem Motlows"(referring to family name) , super rot-gut and often pronounced "Mat Ludlows"

I don't think Bop would complain if he were asked. This is a case where the old saying "it's the thought that counts" truly applies.

Here's one yall might be interested in. I'd recommend the ya let the ice melt a bit with the one. Very smooth despite the high proof, excellent for a cold night.
