Nope, so I'll touch base with you on the side.
Currently working on the very, very late "Lynn's Catfish Calendar 2010 Nostalgic Edition" (set-up for making hard copies), as many I know around here, have been bugging me to get it out ASAP, as they will still buy it. All 12 in PDF with my special sig. Working on the pics, captions, stories behind them as to the early stages of the patterns & the cafish calendar, and some tips. Also will try to get a little pocket 2010 out as well. Plus did a little prelim for the 2011 Edition so I can finally get a hard copy out before Christmas 2010, along with a pocket edition too. Pocket Edition won't have all of the pics, captions & stories though.

Lynns Catfish Calendar- September 2010 Sunday / Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday | 1 BC | 2 ZIP | 3 ZIP | 4 YC 5 YC | 6 ZIP | 7 ZIP | 8 ZIP | 9 ZIP | 10 ZIP | 11 ZIP 12 BFT | 13 BFT | 14 BFT | 15 ZIP | 16 ZIP | 17 BC | 18 BC 19 BC | 20 YC | 21 YC | 22 YC | 23 YC | 24 BC | 25 BC 26 BC | 27 BC | 28 BC | 29 ZIP | 30 ZIP
Lynns Catfish Calendar- KEY: YC = YellowCat // BC = BlueCat // BFT = Buffet (assorted) // ZIP = Zip (not very good) Tip- Always bait out lines the night before a YC or BC day. Tip- Gator Gars run ahead of YellowCats, so bait out late (between 11 PM to 1 AM). Tip- BlueCats also bite good on YC days, but you can rack em up on BC days. Tip- Some variations or alterations are due to weather or other external influences. Tip- For Rod-n-Reelers, use Solunar Tables (etc.) also for best times with my calendar.
++++++++ Sorry, running late here. Work, Work, Work. Hope'n to finally have hard copies of the 2010 Catfish Calendar this week with pics & caption & some tips. Almost completed. And I have the data for 2011 but won't find time for a few weeks to map it out. Meanwhile, here is the September Catfish Calendar (from RTF files), along with Key, a few days late with a few target times to take note of.
First off, as to the main YellowCat roaming/feeding times, we are now in the target YC run which is Sat/Sun (4th/5th (which would be from Fri PM thru Sun PM or Mon AM if running lines). Mon/Tues (13/14) might also be good to try again on YellowCats even though Buffet (BFT). 4 Day YC run on Mon-Thurs (20-23). I would target the 22/23 mostly. Next YC run would be on 1/2 of October (Fri/Sat).
For BlueCats, Sat/Sun (18/19) will be a heavy hitter. And for a really good 3 day BC run, go for 17-19 (Fri-Sun). And for a major cluster 5 day BC run, hit 'em hard on 24-28 (Fri-Tues).
And with a tad bit of cooler air (not much though here), if you are in the right spots, you should get more volume in your catches, especially if you set lines. Fixed lines (trotlines, set hooks, and throwlines) will definitely show a bigger catch. Juglines as well, but since they may drift, they are not set at a fixed point, unless you have a weight for a temporary anchor.
The Best!!! Gotta Run ...

Lynn, This is alot of information to process, for sure..... I'd love to have time to validate your methods. In the meantime, you might consider building your data in a spreadsheet, then printing it to a .pdf, then converting to a .jpeg from the Adobe .pdf software. Just a thought, as that'd make it a little easier to read for the average user. I think it'd be easier for you to repeat on a month-by-month basis, if you intend on doing so. Shane

Good thing about the YC & BC runs this month, as to the calendar, is a lot fall over the weekends. So that helps many who can't get off of work during the weekdays.
Hmm, PDF to JPG. I like that idea. I do an easy early RTF edition, as it takes less KB than WORD 2000 (I use WORD 2000 in DOC format as it has never been hit by bugs or buggers). That is one reason I chose that version Plus it was the first to have option to convert to HTM (HTML) with a click of the mouse.
The other I do, is for the hard copy calendar of full 12 months & additional stuff (pics, captions & tips). It is in a calendar program (not sure what format exactly). But it can convert also to a PDF file, which is what I use for the hard copy 12 month calendars. I did not realize that PDF can be made to a JPG. Guess it is the updated version which I have not had a chance to upgrade to.
I guess I could also ... problem is time though.
Wow! 61 degrees. Been sometime since I have felt that. Would have been nice. Here it barely cleared 70 or 69 this AM. Elena & Helen have suffered enough in the heat in Lugansk, Ukraine this summer. Can you imagine 110 to 126 degrees for two months? A cold one hit on the 20th which gave a bit of relief for a few days before it warmed up again.

Hey Lynn,
For a PDF there is a program (free) called PDF Creator. After you install it, it will show up as a printer. You can the "print" your RTF document into a PDF doc which you can then save. I use it all the time for bills and the such that I pay online.

Odwraca,
Thanks for the info on that. I'll have to check it out. Meanwhile, sorry I have not had a chance to touch base on getting two websites yet. Between work, family get-together (& getting everything ready), and trying to compile the 2010 Catfish Calendar, there has not been enough sleep for me this past week.
Already had 3 hard copies printed at Office Max (their document services end is called IMPress. I went to another Print shop who I figured would be cheaper. Not so. They wanted 59 cents a page (1 side print) color & 9 cents a page (1 side print B/W). That included the paper. OfficeMax wanted only 49 cents for color on 1 side & same on B/W. I had the pics/caption stories page in <.jpg> for each month. And I had the catfish calendar months in <.PDF> as my calendar program has a PDF converter. OfficeMax converted the jpgs into PDF & strung them in line so it would make it easier to print. I only got charged for $7 for the set-up fee. The other place wanted at least $15 & I was told that I would have to reset the PDF files to B/W myself as they could not. But Adam at OfficeMax said no problem, he could do it (& he did). It would have been all color, including the 12 months, but at an extra 50 cents each or 40 cents each, which would have drawn up my costs an extra $6 or $4.80. So I had to trim costs by having the calendar months done in B/W, as well as the inside cover story & tips (2 pages- 1 side only.
The reason for the rtf calendar is it is the one I share. The style is simple & uses less KB as an attachment. But if it will convert to PDF, I will check it out.
Oh, see the next post on the printed copy of 2010 calendar.

Finally! The 2010 Catfish Calendar has been compiled & completed. It can now be printed, if you wish a copy. My cost is about $15 (above $14). Calendars with tax, were $13.54 something & additional page was $0.49 + tax. This one is titled "Lynn's Catfish Calendar 2010 Nostalgic Edition". And they are individually numbered once again. Months have 2, 3, or 4 pics each & a big caption (story). This one goes back to the early days of the Catfish Calendar research & findings from 1980 to 1985, then jumps up to November 2002 for December. June has pics related to the 2009 Central Texas Catfish Kid's Catfish Tourney at Running Branch Marina. And pics of "Big 'Un" (a 60+ pound Op) are on the Cover & on August. The 3 separate newspaper clippings (1985/1986) of "Big 'Un" are on a Bonus Sheet (sort of like a big baseball collector card). Even though it is finally out, there are still over 3 1/2+ months left to go for this year's catfish season. One good haul alone (be it for the freezer or CPR pics), the 2010 edition is still well worth the $15 cost of the calendar. You will even get to see & meet one of my YellowCat teachers in February & March (in the 2010 calendar story captions & pics). Inside the cover are two pages which includes some tips shared & some that have not been shared. If you need the 2010 calendar mailed to you, just add $1.50 to cover mailing costs. Email me for further details if you want a printed copy.
And a further note ... I have all of the data for the 2011 catfish calendar. It is just a manner of putting it down, then adding pics & story captions, plus many new tips that have not been shared yet. I will be doing this in October in order for the 2011 edition to be completed before Thanksgiving so everybody can finally get the catfish calendar early & map out your strategy for a really good season of catfishing for 2011.

Somewhere on another thread I posted some info ahead of time for October. I'll repaste it below since I forgot what thread I put it in. Sorry I am 2 days late. Have been working late, then zoning out on keyboard right off into Zzzzzzzzzzzz-land the past few nights.
Here ya go, October 2010. RTF version which shifts everything (the numbers) to the left margin.
Lynn's Catfish Calendar- October 2010 Sunday / Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | 1 YC | 2 YC 3 ZIP | 4 ZIP | 5 ZIP | 6 ZIP | 7 ZIP | 8 ZIP | 9 ZIP 10 BFT | 11 BFT | 12 ZIP | 13 ZIP | 14 BC | 15 BC | 16 BC 17 BFT | 18 BFT | 19 YC | 20 YC | 21 YC | 22 BC | 23 BC 24 BFT | 25 BFT | 26 ZIP | 27 ZIP | 28 YC | 29 YC | 30 ZIP 31 ZIP
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Lynn's Catfish Calendar- KEY: YC = YellowCat // BC = BlueCat // BFT = Buffet (assorted) // ZIP = Zip (not very good) Tip- Always bait out lines the night before a YC or BC day. Tip- Gator Gars run ahead of YellowCats, so bait out late (between 11 PM to 1 AM). Tip- BlueCats also bite good on YC days, but you can rack 'em up on BC days. Tip- Some variations or alterations are due to weather or other external influences. Tip- For Rod-n-Reelers, use Solunar Tables (etc.) also for best times with my calendar. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
====================================== Here are some days to key in on for October on my Catfish Calendar as to Yellows & Blues ... Get your pen & memo pad out.
YellowCats (YC) days are on 1/2, then 19/20/21, and 28/29. Possibly they might also hit in the pattern of 7-2-7-2-7-3 & repeat, so another shot might be 10/11 as to their roaming/feeding patterns.
BlueCats (BC) days ("rack 'em up when possible") fall on a 3 day run (14/15/16), then a 2 day run (22/23). You wuill also catch a fair amount of Blues on the YC days as well, but not in great volume as you can on BC days.
Buffet (BFT) days ("anything is possible, mostly a variety pak/array") are scattered out on 10/11, then 17/18, and 24/25. Because it is hard to predict what will occur on these days, it is like shooting dice. You just never know, until you go.
The week to avoid (especially for those running trotlines & throwlines) is Sunday thru Saturday (3rd-9th), as it is a good 7 days of ZIP. Definitely ZIP if weather is moderate, such as no cold fronts, no storms, and no rains. Any days not mentioned above also fall under ZIP.

Don't Panic!
As I have said, rod-n-reel has advantages that set lines don't. Juglines have a little, especially if they drift. If you have a boat & a scope, you can find the fish. That's numero uno. Next (Numero 2) is you hope at least one might still snack or is not running on the same time clock as those running according to the catfish calendar. A 3rd Best Bet is go early in the AM or late in the PM when Cats usually will hit (not speaking of night on the PM end). If no luck, try different baits.
The Catfish Calendar is sort of like having a schedule of those Cats who run the normal pattern (roaming/feeding), something akin to the majority of people having the standard day schedule for their work & eating arrangements.
If we were to try & run a number crunch, we'll just use a hypothetical percentage so everybody can grasp it better. The norm (as to the catfish calendar) covers between 66% to 75% of the Cats (Yellows & Blues). However, there are two other shifts (as to work) as to people. Therefore as to Cats (Yellows & Blues), these are covered in the range of 25% to 34% so your chances go downhill, but are not impossible.
Each way of fishing is relative as to the context in which it is placed. If I was running set lines, I might check them in the morning, but not rebait (if it is a ZIP day on the calendar). I have found to bait my trotlines & throwlines, or set hooks, to be a waste of time & sometimes bait. Either the bait will still be there, be partially gone, or be wiped clean on a ZIP day, but rarely will I pull a fish off later in the day. So, as I said, I will run them in the AM, pull fish off, and let the lines sit until later that evening (if the next day on the calendar is not ZIP again). Once again, if you set juglines that drift, you might have a better chance, as they are not set. I usually set mine with a quart concrete weight & they do not drift (unless a nice size one takes it on a walkabout).
You see, set lines have an advantage of when fish roam & feed, as well as hear or smell the bait, they tend to find your lines on days other than ZIP (mostly). I can bait out on a ZIP evening & usually have some Cats the next morning if it is a BC, YC, or BFT day. Perhaps not as much, if they are just starting to roam/feed. But I can also look at the calendar, know what days which are hitting the best & might let a line sit for two days then go reap in a good haul. HOWEVER, you can't do that in the heat of summer or late spring, as fish will die. My "Planter" trotline for the big water (deeper water) on a lake has enough flexibility to keep them alive for longer intervals. By having set lines, in a sense, it is like having your hooks set in a place for an extended time so that when they bite (as to the calendar), your lines are there to catch them.
Now just because you have the calendar working for you, it does not pinpoint at what time of the day or evening, or if they hit really good two times (or more) for that particular day. This is one reason the calendar works extremely well for set lines. Because it capitalizes on the majority & keying in on their roaming/feeding patterns. And you have to realize (or be aware) that there are some external factors that can hamper their regular roam/feed pattern. Such as a dam letting out a lot of water on a lake, or the river rising fast or dropping fast.
But, as for certain days, speaking of ZIP days, do not give up hope, as by boat & rod-n-reel, you can go find them (by your scope). But you will have to find the smaller percentage that dance to a different beat than the norm. The good thing is, you can cast in different areas, as well as move the boat to a new location. However, once you leave, your fishing is done (at least in the previous spot you fished at.
Does that help somewhat?
