10 - 20 tries is crazy. No way I'm doing that. I'll hit it 3 times, max...then it's time to get off the ramp. When I said mine was cold natured, I didnt mean it didnt start on the first try. I just have to bump the choke a few times to keep it running before I can drop the start lever to idle.

if my boat need ten times to start, you can bet the farm I'll be sitting there till she starts..
after waiting for people to load their boats with ..beer..skies...tubes...beer...ropes...some slow dudes...beeer...sun tan lotion..beer...umbrellas...towels..chairs...beeer..they can wait on me for a while..I'm going fishing .. fish

The motor has a primer system for the choke hold key in and count to 20-25 then start motor and see if it starts better. Also do not give any throttle until it starts and you may have to bump the primer.

have u done a sink-and link timing/throttle adjustment?
my 91-175 rude starts quickly every time w/ no throttle advance. This adjustment is critical to easy starts.
