Were you catching the redish colored ones over mud? and the silver ones over rock or boulders?

Here's a Texoma red from a mud flat

and here's a white clear specimen from a clear deep pond over a semi hard clay bottom

They were all caught in the same area in the rocks. The red ones I was catching are much darker than PB's pic. The part that made me wonder is I didn't see any coloration half way in between. Texoma has some strange fish. A customer caught a Golden Eye the other day. Neat fish, but you rarely catch them. Texoma also has fresh water crabs. I have pulled a few up on snagged driftwood. Very small. About the size of a quarter.

A guy that I went down the river with a couple weeks ago pulled this with a spinning rod, so it could be done with the fly I would suppose.

Screw all the sissy/glam species everyone else goes after; if you're banging that many drum, maybe you should start promoting drum trips.

The next question is, can you put us on drum-on-the-fly?

It's more than the catfish would do.

Drum are easy at the dam. Spot fish them. Olive and rust woolly buggers. There are a ton of them down there after the water goes down.

beautiful fish, Carey !

John 5:24 Very truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

1Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

Wow I have definitely never seen a freshwater drum as dark red as that one posted by TarponFly. Very cool.
