Above link is for surf height. You want sea height:

http://www.stormsurfing.com/cgi/display.cgi?a=gom_height

And the time is GMT, so for us its 6 hours behind. So you need to look at the seas at noon friday for our time at 6am, which I believe is your departure.

I think you are going to have a hill-climbing ride out, but the seas start to quickly drop. My take is you have 6-8'seas going out, but by midnight friday you are 4-6' and dropping from there to 2-4'. I think you guys are fine. Except for the fact you are jinxing it by talking about it. :-)

Are you guys all on the same page with departure dates? Listed is date in original post is Oct. 27-30, which is actually 4 days. Some posts above talk about going up thursday night for 6am friday departure (which would return Oct. 30). Then some posts talk about thursday morning departure.

I will puke my brains out for sure...and I don't care. I want to go. If we go, I'm down, if we don't, I'm going to have to find another trip to get on this week....even if that means going to venice. I don't care....I just need to fish!!

Yes, I know you are are talking about the same trip, but do all of the fishermen know when that trip is departing? At least one poster stated friday departure. If he gets down to Port A Thursday evening to spend the night, he's gonna be in for an unpleasant surprise. :-)

SkeeterRonnie was talking about another trip, which was planned to depart on Friday. But that trip has been cancelled due to lack of heads count.

Got it. Just checking.

For the piggies, don't fish off the boat. You will have much better luck around the dock in front of the boats (WC and SC), and the dock in front of the fish cleaning room. Don't forget some tiny hooks and shrimp.

Hope yall get 'em.

I'm not sure where the 9' - 11' was seen but here is the forecast I always use. I am watching too since I have a 48 hr trip on the Pelican departing Sat. morning .....

.THURSDAY...NORTHEAST WIND 25 TO 30 KNOTS. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET
BUILDING TO 7 TO 9 FEET IN THE AFTERNOON. ISOLATED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MORNING.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...NORTHEAST WIND 20 TO 25 KNOTS. SEAS 7 TO
9 FEET.
.FRIDAY...NORTHEAST WIND AROUND 20 KNOTS DECREASING TO 10 TO
15 KNOTS IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 6 TO 8 FEET.
.SATURDAY...NORTHEAST WIND 5 TO 10 KNOTS SHIFTING SOUTHEAST.
SEAS 3 TO 4 FEET.
.SUNDAY...SOUTH WIND 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET.

Mr. Biddy ...... It is not physically possible to puke your brains out. Medical translation to follow.

However, you could entertain the other folks on the boat if you would eat lots of Cheetos and drink lots of Big Red on the way out .... sick

"still" awesum

That's me. and same on 2cool, Bloodydecks, etc.

I bring pain meds, although the 'patch' usually takes care of any sleeping problems. Two other musts on this boat are ear plugs and a book.
