Once out at Whitney I caught a scuba diver with a
treble hook. I hooked him right in the back you talk about coming up out of the water. I am here to tell you that ole boy was moving but then again I had my pole doubled over reeling like hell. If he would of had a gun I think he would of killed me. It was not funny at the time but I laugh about that now every time I think about it.

I caught a fire extinguisher last year, and this year I was throwing a 3/4 ounce rooster tail into schooling hybrids when it never reached the water. A seagull had gotten twisted in the line. I finally managed to reel him in and figured I would untangle him. WRONG!!! The little bast#$! pecked and bit at my hand!!! I cut the line. What was really funny, was that the lure was just dangling about a foot below him. So as he flew away, I could here the clanging of the blade. Well every so often I would hear that clanging, and sure enough there was my seagull circling overhead!!!

I caught a beaver at Lake Travis on a Rapala many years ago. Kinda funny until I got it to the boat. Fortunately it was foul hooked in a back foot and I shook it off.

Caught a Shimano reel on a nice rod while King Salmon fishing the mouth of Lake Creek in Alaska. That was a nice addition to the 42# King I caught the same day.

I also fought and landed a 10# down rigger ball off Kodiak while halibut fishing. It would bounce as I pumped to get it up, sorta like a 'but.

I caught a 12 inch cast iron frying pan.

I used to go bass fishing with my stepfather as a kid and one time one of his friends took us out in his boat on Lake Austin. This guy really hated little kids and only took me 'cause he was good friends with my stepdad.

Anyway, at one point I reared back to cast and when the lure went sailing away we looked up and realized I had hooked this guy's baseball cap and it went flying into the drink.

Needless to say this guy never took us out again.

caught a goose once when i was a kid

took my wife on her first fishing trip and after explaining when the bobber goes under give it slight yank and reel it in i stepped about 8 or 10 feet behind her. boober went under and next thing i know is the hook weight and bobber are wrapped around my head, all i could do was yell
" dont reel it in..dont reel it in "

ive casted and hit ducks on several occasions, but never hooked them. its kinda funny to scare the carp out of them.

the strangest thing I've caught on a rod & reel was a 30 lb carp fishing for white bass on Lake Travis. However a fellow member has caught a
5 foot alligator gar. (yeah that's right- 5 ft)

Caught a 3 1/2 to 4 foot gator in Laccassine National Wildlfie refuge on a Johnson spoon & pork chunk. I reeled him in and my partner grabbed him by both jaws. After I made sure he had his mouth securely closed, I took a pair of needle nose pliers & removed the spoon. He was not as wild as I thought he was going to be but it still made me stain my pants!!

Caught about a 10lb rock one day on a DD22 at Fork. It was time to pack up when the rocks were biting.

GonnaMissR wins my vote by hanging the scuba diver! Thats funny there! I had to tell my wife about that one! I have caught lots of things before like 2 gulls, 3 mallards, lots of snakes"some on purpose", a nice anchor and rope that I still use on accasion, but the one of the coolest was catching a crappie that was then eaten by a nice black bass. Talk about strange, I was impressed to see what had happened. I have actually had this happen twice now, once with a bass and once with a cat!

Ok where do i start..i was checking and running some limb lines in a creek off of lake dunlap..at the mouth of the creek i had a yella cat line set on some branhes of a tree..i cut my motor off and coasted underneaththe tree . i grabbed the line to chekc it and it was empty...i reached back to grab a perch and had the hook in one hand when evidenlty there was a nest of yellow jackets up in the tree..they hit me all over my head and neck and stung like there was no tommorow..i started swatting at them and trying to escape when my 9/0 yella cat hook dug itself into my calf of my left leg past the barb....i was caught and being stung..not god. i didn't even feel the hook due to thten number of stings i recieved...i tried to pull away and notcied i was hooked bad..so as i was pulling out my knife to cut the line a jet skier passes the mouth of the creek as mach 4 and sends a holy hell of wake in my direction causing further yanking on my leg..i cut the line and drove home to the rampa and then our house..my wife said i couldn't go fishing alone for awhile...talk about a bad day..i went home wiht a hook in my leg and did some self surgery to remove the hook..a day to remeber

A month ago myself and 3 freinds of mine were offshore fishing out of port occoner we were about 30 miles out fishing in water over 100 feet deep and i lost my shades over board a few minutes latter one of my buddies reeled them back in whats the chance of that happening again?

Was fishin from the docks out at Fayette County once and a boater busted off my leader. I re-rigged and caught a couple cats later. while I was cleaning one of them I discovered my lost leader in his mouth. Pretty hungry fish I guess.
