fished the pylons, and got dink. Towards the dog park, on that side, I think there was a snag there. but nothing near the jogging trail side pylon. lots of dinks, but they are def shallower now. Im in one man pontoon boats. fished the creek and had better luck there. This is what I guide out of. Gets into skinny water and places the banker cant get to. Glieds through 2 inches of water

Fishbonz -Jigs And what was the weight of that "new" record crappie at WR.?? P.S. I may be booking a guide date with you soon.. -WRC. 1.32 lbs/ 13 inches/ 10.25 inch girth ( not a big one, but its an easy record to be broken. The 15-16 inchers will show up soon.....) That makes 13 records this year, just 7 more to go.

Its a creek record. Not a lake record. Ill get the lake record in March.
I have yet to hit Rowlett Creek. In two weeks I will have time to start scouting the creek. Right now Im at White Rock most of the time.

About when does the crappie fishing in the creek heat up? My girl and I were out there today for the first time ever. We seen the dog park and the walking bridge and there was a lady renting kayaks and canoes. We parked there by her and walked down the trail a little bit. Weeds are still high and I was in flip flops and did not want to get snake bit, so we turned back. The creek is pretty wide at this point. How far back do you guys walk back or is there a better access point?

I was wandering the same question, Maybe I can beg my mom to let me go back there.

its 8 ft right next to the kayak rental. The fish will eventually make thier run right through there. We still have a solid month till they start showing up in "LIMITABLE" numbers. I have only pulled 3 out of that area this year. Most of the Crappie are still in the lake somewhere..... Where in the lake, no one knows....

Cool. Do you find yourself walking very far up the creek. I seen the same creek all the way up from Northwest Hwy and it's much smaller at that point so it runs a pretty good ways. Is that parking lot there by the kayak rental the best place to park?
