Can anyone tell me about the White River fishing tube from Bass Pro? It seems reasonably priced. Will I have trouble with Rod and tackle?

Thanks!

I have the open front White River and really like it.
I haven't had any problems taking rods, tackle, water, etc. in it. I am 275# and it floats me real well.

MOst lakes, ponds, etc. are accessable with a tube. That's why I like my tube (and keep it in the truck at all times). What area are you in???

I live close to Lake Lewisville. But when I fish I make the trek to Ray Roberts. Grapevine is convenient, too. Any lake in the North Texas area is open.

Treetop,
I haven't gotten my tube, yet. I'll send you a PM when I get it. You can teach me the ropes. I've never fished in one. I'll be glad to be able to get on the water.

I have not had experience with the white river in particular. But I agree on having the access of an open front, easy in and out, and you can launch anywhere. I like the bigger V tubes which you can sometimes get for just a little more new when on sale over the internet. I got the ODC 420 directly from the Creek company for $99 several months back and really like it. My weight is at 180#, and added a small cushion to keep my butt dry and out of water. I don't use waders down south even in cooler weather and don't like my hindquarters marinating in the soup of microbes. So this works well for me for what I like to do, anyway. Just depends on what kind of tubing you like to do and where you go. To each his own..
Hope this helps.

PS. For those that use Creek company products, you can get a discount of 25% on anything at the web site that is not on sale by using a code word in your order: paddle

Thanks. I was looking into the open front tube, or U tube. I'm going to check this "V" tube before deciding on which one. We are probably equal in size so the V tube sounds like a winner. I will check it out.

Anyone ever hear of Creek Company? They have the ORIGINAL U BOAT, which is a tube like the White River tube. I am wondering about the quality of this product.
The Creek Company's website says out of stock til mid October. I can get it on Cabela's website for around $130-$140.
Any suggestions? I was going to get the package deal that included the pump and fins but decided against it after reading a review. Apparently, the fins don't fit right and fall off easy.

Heres another site with good prices sometimes:
http://www.portablekayaks.com/float_tubes

I have not done business with them, so I am not recommending them or any particular tubes. I do not like the round doughnut type but some guys do. I have had good luck with the ODC 420 and also the lightweight 8# version which is good if you are packing for a distance launch. Just depends on how often and where you will be using your tube.

I have a Creek Company U-Boat 2000.
I did purchase the "Super" combo - have not used the fins so cannot comment on them. I like the tube - it is easy to maneuver. It feels large when you first get it in due to the high sides and back - but fishes well. I also have a Fish Cat 4 and I would be hard pressed to choose one over the other. I purchased my U-Boat off Ebay and I believe I paid around $75 for the super combo and it was new.

The Ebay company I purchased my U-Boat from is boatmaster_2009.

I was happy with my purchase - but you must decide on your own if you want to go the Ebay route.
Here is what I would bid on if I were in the market:
Creek Compnay ODC 420
