Me a trouble maker? Actually I am just ignorant and trying to learn from the masters like yourself. I would be happy with 7 lber of any species.

If there are any Hybrids in Texoma, they're very few, and very far between. They've never been stocked, although some believe that occasionally there are naturally hybridized sandbass and /or stripers. I've caught a lot of fish in that lake and only ever had one that I wondered about. It definitely was not a classic stocked hybrid like you will find in CC, Hubbard, Bridgeport, etc. but different enough that I still wonder. I have also heard speculation that there may be a few that traveled down the rivers (Washita & Red) from Oklahoma lakes that are stocked, and lost a few through the dam. I do not know the Oklahoma river systems well enough to guess which they might be unless maybe Waurika is one of them. Seems unlikely to me given the flow in the river most of the year. I will certainly second the notion that seven pounds is seven pounds, Hybrid or not, a really nice fish! Way to go. mark www.texomasportfishing.com

It is not that unusual to catch stripers from Texoma with broken lines similar to a hybrid. There are various opinions as to what causes it.

I have been guiding full time on texoma for 4 years now and we have caught a few hybrids every year except for this year I can not recall catching any. Most of the hybrid that are in the lake probably come from lake waurika but they have also been stocked in Diversion ,Lake Wichita, and Altus Lugert .
