Got in another one before they close the Pass.
Drove up to an empty parking lot with a huge pipeline blocking all easy entry to surf side of the pass. After driving four hours it was going to take more than that to stop me from fishing it.
Showed up Tuesday the 7th at 9:00 a.m. on a high tide. Waves were rough crashing on me at the end as I set up my rods. Big Boys were on Fire for about two hours. Me and my friend caught several Bulls over three feet, and one big ugly using mullet. Released all unharmed.
Then it became very slow when the clouds lifted and the sky turned blue. No bait on the surf side the rest of the trip. No Trout either, no where.
Night fishing under lights was a total bust.
Next day Tagged out a couple Bulls over forty inches and caught several small Sharks....still slow.
That night a few Reds came to the lights for about an hour, Trout never showed up.
Still a good trip just slower than I expected. That pipeline really made it a pain getting the gear out there and back. I tripped on it one night and almost broke my leg.
A Undercover Game warden showed up in a T Shirt while I was landing a shark. Asked to see my license before I removed the hook from the sharks mouth. Flashed a badge, then checked our coolers at the truck while asking a lot of questions. Seemed disappointed when he did not find a violation.
We left Thursday morning with no bites and no bait in site.
Ya`ll be careful and Tag a Big One!
