Should a newbie to Lake Fork have any issue running the Main Lake boat lanes? These should be safe, right?

yes I think. Im no Fork pro but I think many mistakes are incurred when other lanes intersect and they run two buoys that arnt suppose to be conecected. For example they connect the wrong dots and cut the corners. Just be careful take it slow and never assum open water is ok to run.

Yeah the main buoys are good..... the problem areas are people trying to run the guide lanes or short-cuts between two boat lanes. Muctang, lit'l Mustang, Dale, back of little caney, are all a little hairy right now.

Just go slow, and if you have any doubt shut her down

Has anyone ever noticed that the boat lanes chip has you running way north of the buoys going from the junction of Mustang into Little Mustang?

Kinda...If you come out of Mustang you`ll turn right (Junction) into Little Mustang. If you want to go to Williams, the Guide Trail or the main lane back to the east you have to go just a hair farther to the south to another Junction. If your headed west down the main boat lane it has you turning right at the guide, williams junction for about a buoy length and then turning left (west) into Little Mustang. When you run it right the buoys are about 50-100 yds south of you till you get into the mouth of LM. Hope I didn`t make that confusing?

rolfmao Sorry

I can see it in my head because I`ve ran it many times. People always look at me like I`m crazy (Which I am) when I run so far out from the buoys. If you can pull it up on boat lanes you`ll see what I`m talking about.
