Does having the boat lane "chip" make this more unlikely to occur?

If you fish Lake Fork sooner or later you are going to break something no matter how well you know the lake.

My place is back in Mustang...I watch so many folks run too far north down near the bridge....the second to last bouy is probably 30 yards too far north.
There are stumps galore out from the last small point on the right before you get to the bridge....on the other hand dont get too close to popes...big stumps on that side as well.
I would sure like to see the lake drop another foot or so...I remember about 5 years ago...it was shocking how close we all run to big stumps all over the lake....its a great time to start marking them on your gps.

Bouys get slack in the line when the water drops...slack allows the bouy to drift to one side (depending on the wind). That could be some of the problems.
I know when TBend was so low they drifted into the stump fields. You had to know what side of the bouy to be on.
Ya'll be careful out there!

Running the boat lane all the way across from the marina? Sounds like you ran to the wrong buoy. OUCH

This will get you from LFM to the main boat lane without running through the forest, which is the "boat lanes" route. It's an old cleared path through the timber, you have to go around some of the stump fields close to the entrance to LFM.

I'd still like to know which " in the boat lane out of Lake Fork Marina" we are talking about.
Are you talking about the one headed across the lake and toward the 515 W bridge or the one that heads south toward Big Mustang? The west side guide run, so to speak?
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

all I can do is run per boat lane chip. Before I had the chip, I ran to the middle of the green spot on the other side of the lake. If I recall, the boat lane per the chip is a little to the left of the green spot.
Supposed to meet guy I work with the first week in Oct. I'd like to know where this stump is in the boat lane.
I thought it was pretty clear leaving the marina as long as you run to the green spot (guys lawn with the big house across the lake)
Thanks, Billy

We call that green point and if you're going all the way across the lake from LFM, you should be way north of that line.

I'd like to know which run too. Ran both this weekend with out hutting anything.......
Go with Fouz's directions on how to get across to the boat lane when leaving LFM. Btwn the Green Point and the bridge is a good line if not familiar.
If going the other way it's just pucker up and old on if not familiar.
