Sandwichmaker- I heard of such a spot I am unsure of where it is at!! Ask your nephew and get back us if you don't mind. My freezer is about outta crappie. And with no boat I will have to wait till they come back to shore, hopefully around thanksgiving is what I am told.
J- not sure I know they stocked Gordon lake not to long ago Never tried Wichita either. I usually do my catfishing down on the river. As of a few weeks ago me and my kids were still hooking crappie out at the fishing pier in the state park.
Great to see some new posters nyall come on back now ya hear.

Hello everybody, you too Jerry it been a while, I have been busy at work,"New Job" give me a call Jerry and Sam I'll catch you up to speed. Shoshone Park is the river side boat ramp of Lake Arrowhead There should be catfish and crappie up river, since there is shade on most of the river, but the catfish will be better when the river is running after a good rain. Shoshone Park is the river side boat ramp of Lake Arrowhead Located at the upper end of the lake east of US 281. Look for turnoff just south of the Little Wichita River bridge. Ramp accommodates smaller boats No fee required Open all year, usable when lake is near conservation pool level Operated by City of Wichita Falls (940) 761-7491 Here is a Map http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/arrowhead/access.phtml#pointc

Sam- where are some accessible spots on the river? Only place I have seen is off of loop 11 there near the bridge?? We might grab us some minnows tomorrow and hit the state park early. We've gotten a few hits off the back side of Gordon. Nothing to write home about just yet.

Vetro right on, on the job. Hopefully it is longer then the last one. Let me know if you ever need a fishing partner.
J- I go to a few places. 2 are here in town both are between 367 and kell. One is on 369 just down from kell. Pull over on the left and the is a spot To park and go under the bridge. Same for the one between 367 and really seymor highway on Barnett. On this road you want the one closet to seymor and right under the bridge.
The one I usually go to is ou

Head out to petrolia and turn left at the blinking light and go down about 5-10 miles and the wicthita river is there. Park other side of the bridge on right and head under the bridge.down the hill and all the way down the left are many fishing spots even to th right go u deer the bridge and many fishing spots.
Good luck

Yeah, I've fished this exact spot north of Petrolia many times and it is a good one. A lot of the "by the bridge" fishing areas are dirty from people dumping stuff off the bridge. I haven't tried the one under Loop 11. And the Shoshone Park area mentioned by Vetro (the one about half a mile north of Scotland and on the Little Wichita) is a good one, too. The sign for "Shoshone Park" was not up the last time I was out there.
Hey, Phil! It's so good to hear from you. Let's get Pezz and Sam and take both boats out some Saturday. I can always use you to pull my boat back to the ramp. Read some of the earlier posts, about page 28 or 29, LOL. I will try to go out the day before and bait for catfish. Of course, crappie are easier to clean. Glad you've got that job.

Hi Jerry. I'm back from vacation and the hard drive on my compruter crashed so I can't get on here as easy. Tried going after the hybrid at waurika again with no luck. Guess it's time to try crappie fishing at the derricks, or maybe do like Heavy and take my son dove hunting.

A good place to hook into some nice cats is Lake Petrolia. I caught a nice 8 pounder last year on my birthday and met someone who caught an 18 pounder there!
