How does P-Line premium compare to the CXX when you match them up by diameter. I know the CXX is very strong. What about the premium in the same diameter?

CX-Premium has a higher tensile strength than CXX-Xtra Strong. In general theres not a lot of difference in the breaking strength of CX, and CXX given the same line diameter. Personally, I prefer CX-Premium. Ive found that it handles better than CXX based on line diameter, and not just the listed pound test rating. Other than diameter for pound test rating the differences that Ive noticed is that the CXX is better handling in general than CXX even based on line diameter. CXX may be better in terms of abrasion resistance, but I thats a bit of an assumption, rather than experimentally derived analysis, or extensive field experience. TFP

I use CX for everything but spinnerbait. I use CXX for spinnerbait.

I've settled on the p-line cXX for most of my reels. It's strong and I've had no problems with it. I tried a spool of the premium and liked it but could not honestly tell much difference in the CXX I was using. Now if the p-line HALO I just got (time to try out fluorocarbon line) is half as good as the CXX line I'll be very happy...:)

Different strokes. I prefer the P line 100% to the Halo. Let us know what you think about the Halo.

I like CXX Moss green. Very low stretch for copoly and very abraision resistant. Had a 8.25lb bass wrap me up around a ladder on a boathouse. She pulled and pulled and it didn't break the 12lb CXX. Finally had to reach through the steps on the ladder and scoop her with the dip net. Had to cut the bait off and reel the line to get it un-done. That stuff is strong!
I also like the P-Line 100% Fluoro

I really like it and use it any time I am using heavier baits like a carolina rig and 3/4 oz jigs. I am going to get some 12 pound test to use. I have only used Halo in 15-20 pound test. The 100% P-line fluorocarbon is good line also. I like it better than the Berkley 100%.

I tried the Premium once in the past and it seemed to kink up quite a bit. Do you think I just got a bad spool?
