This is part of what is so great about crappie fishing. In just about any lake, you can find someone that knows it well and consistently kicks "A" there.
If it is not your home lake, spend the money for a local guide the first day and listen well. Then fish like a local for the rest of the week , it is really worth the investment.

September on Texoma is as good as it gets. The crappie will be stacked on shallow bp's, on the poles around the marinas, and all over the 377 bridge. JD I would not drive past texoma to get to ANY crappie lake if it was me.

IF you are talking in TX then Texoma for big fish, Cedar Creek for big #'s and the best crappie guide in TX would be Mr. Tommy Tidwell @ Lake Granger. Granger always produces limits year round.

Keep on fishing.

I actually grew up about 30 mins from Weiss. Some of the best fishing I've done was on that lake, whether it's bass, catfish, or crappie.

I have only fished for crappie in TX at Lavon and Ray Roberts. I have had great success for both quantity and quality.

But the best crappie lake I have ever fished is Grenada Lake in Mississippi.

Ahh road trip...... I would go to Tawakoni (hybrids), Fork(LMB) and then LOP(crappie) or Cedar Creek(crappie/hybrids) and Palestine(hybrids/crappie)!

What an easy question.

Texoma, call me and we will just go fishing. I have over 100 brushpiles and find more every trip.

If you want a change of scenery, Cedar Creek with Chuck Rawlins or Ray Roberts with Cliff Spindel. Maybe Lavon with Jerry Habcock or Grapevine with Guy Skinner. Lots of other good lakes but these are the ones I'm most familar with.
