Red Ranger fishes Lewisville??? I have fished every major tournament on Lewisville for the past two years...Red Ranger has never beaten me out there...come to think of it I don't ever recall seeing his name listed in any tourney...that is strange...what kind of info could he have given KVD about a lake he doesn't fish???? I want some of what he smokes...nevermind...now that I think about it...no I dont...he can have it all! lol you need to scroll down pass your spinnerbait fieldstaff positions to see the reel deal...

The "reel deal"...is that like a sell on reels going on at Bass Pro or something...or did you mean REAL deal...either way I still don't get it...but then again you are on TEAM SWEEEET...with RR...that is sweet.

The graph on my last boat is full of the finest waypoints on Lake Fork. It was Kelly Jordon's 2008 boat. The graph in my new boat (KJ's 2010 FX) is also full of the finest waypoints a man could ever hope for on Fork.
Every time I go out on Fork I smoke the fish off those spots. Spots given me by someone with as much knowledge of the big fish and numbers spots on that lake as anyone that's ever fished it. I mean, all I gotta do is pull up on one of those waypoints, throw the bait du jour and the fish just launch themselves at the bait, AND over the gunnels. Darndest thing I've ever seen.
Guess what? I'm lying and there are several people on this forum that can attest to that fact. I've got some of the best info on one of the best lakes in the country, and I still get skunked on that freakin' lake! I can read a graph and I can fish a little. But just because I have the info doesn't mean you won't pull up right beside me, figure out something different and kick my arse.
That's what KVD does with consistency. Ask ANY professinal angler alive and they will tell you the same thing.
Again, my comments were not necessarily directed at Kevin Van Dam. He is obviously one of the best bass fishermen who ever lived. They were in response to the idea that getting a bunch of local information isn't that big a deal because "you still have to catch them." As for your 2008 boat with waypoints...would it be more helpful if someone who was on the lake and caught a huge sack of fish last week gave you GPS waypoints and told you what lure they used, what color, how deep the fish were, which direction they were casting, and so forth? I have a friend who fishes another circuit. I told him where I found some fish recently, what time of day they were biting, how deep they were, what direction I was casting in relation to the landmark, etc. I called him after he went prefishing. He told me he went straight to my spot and immediately started hammering 3-4 pounders. He said by the time his lure would hit the bottom he could barely move it without a fish trying to rip the rod out of his hands. Guess where he is going to fish during his tournament?

Finding the fish is one thing and getting them to bite is another which are two separate skills. You just need more time on the water so an excuse to go more.

I'm gonna go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. Kevin(we're on a first name basis) calls me and say's to me "Karl (AKA Texan4Liberty)what should I be doing on this lake"? Continues "Skeet is so far ahead of me in the point standings and I need a win or a top 10 finish". I reply "Kev.(Kevin for short and only his wife and I can call him that)you need to pull out one of those prototype deep diving Sexy Shads Strike King has been working on and hit that structure I pointed out to you on the map I sent you, and work it hard" He replies back to me "Karl your the man, I think that might work". I say "Have I ever let you down Kev.? Look at how many AOY's you have because of my advice". I continue "just go out there and fish your stengths, and don't give up, When it is all over you'll have Skeet crying in front of millions of people again". Kevin say's to me after a little small talk that he is so glad he has me to turn to for advice and doesn't know what he'd do if he had to figure it out himself. You would think I would get a TFF cap, t-shirt or at least a bumper sticker for the most cleaver response to a post in the history of the forum.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.
