Nice looking fish, but maybe only 8 lbs+ far from a DD bass.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

You armchair bass-pros crack me up. Have you ever caught a fish this big? How tall am I and what do I weigh? What are you basing your guestimation on? I can assure you it was well over 10 lbs.

Yes, I've caught a lot of fish that big.
I dont know how tall you are and how much you weigh, but you would have to be Goliath for the fish to be "well over" 10 lbs.
I'm not taking away anything from your fish, it is certainly a beautiful catch and one that you should be proud of. Congrats!

My personal best was not weighed either in order to let it go quickly in the heat of summer. It was 27" long.If I say it was 12 then so what...its your fish and you had the best look at it.Its real hard to tell how big a big fish is in a pic.
Now,about that body of water.....

Thanks AKA. 28 Sack, I'm not Goliath but I'm not a little guy either. Try 275#. I was fishing in a private lake in Hamilton county. The day was 11 Feb.2007. I had caught several hundred (yes sack 100) fish that morning when the owner came down to check to see if I had any luck. He was amazed that I wasn't losing any of my lures. He had never heard of using weedless plastic baits before. I showed him what I was using and how I had bent the barb down to not injure the fish. He just scratched his head and said "I just use them rattletraps" and went on his way. Before he left though he warned me of a huge bass in the lake that would "plumb tear up your rod and reel. It wasn't 5 minutes later that I cast out a trick worm rigged wacky style and a huge flash of green and silver swirled under the surface rings. The fight was on for at least a minute with several leaps out of the water one tail stand where she seemed to just sit there and pop her jaws before giving in to the slide up the bank. We took a few pics and admired her and made some guestimations of her weight and placed her back to fight another day.
