Preach on Preacher Ed. I agree that the format is wrong and when would they ever play the World series at the beginning of the season. But my problem is that some (Skeet Reese) did not complain when they changed the Classic to the beginning of the season. Do not complain now that you are a loser.
As far as KVD. I personnaly pull for the southern boys to beat him, but he is a great angler. Great players like McGuire, Yount, Mattingly, Ozzie Smith and others will fade in time. But the legends like Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Lou Gherrig(SP) will never die.
KVD is starting to reach close to being legend status.

Just saying if you do not complain when you are a winner, don't complain win you lose. Now lets all stop and start a fund to buy Skeet an unofficial trophy that says he is the actuall winner of AOY. We will enscribe it "Best regular season ever!!!"

I keep seeing poeple posting what aggie96 posted above and it kills me! Yes everyone knows the team that does the best during the regular season doesn't always win it all in the end! THey do however win thier confrence or division! Just like mav's won the West, or Cowboys NFC East championship, or the Rangers the penent, they are regular season winners, with championship TITLES for being the best, just don't necesarilly win the POST season or final championship. Skeet won the regular season, just not the POST. The super bowl is a SEPERATE title. Both teams playing are division champions for that year in the regular season. Doesn't seem that hard to grasp to me! It blows my mind also. I just don't see how anyone can look at how the format works and awards points and then defend it as a legitimate way to crown the AOY. The AOY is for the Angler that was the most consistent on different lakes around the country in different seasons. And somehow defend the fact that these two additional tournaments should carry more weight and not only that, but before we go into those two tournaments we should take points away from the leaders. I don't get it at all.... Clunn is right, it's a mockery of the most difficult title to attain in Bass Fishing since I was a boy. It stood the test of time ever since I can remember. We keep comparing it to other sports, which it can't be post season is not the same, their are no playoffs. But IMO this is like saying, Home Runs count for double points in the last 2 weeks of the regular season. Stupid... Angler of the Year if you want to compare it to other sports should be the equivilant to the season's MVP. Angler of the Year is the best Angler of the Regular Season. The Classic is the World Series/Super Bowl/Playoffs. This year's AOY format makes it more like having 2 Classics for the same season instead of awarding the AOY to the best performer over all of the seasons events evenly.

KVD is starting to reach close to being legend status. While I agree that the Classic is the next year, you still qualify for it the previous year so its a wash as I see it. I pull for the Southern boys as well-lol. Nothing like be Southern born-

After seeing Skeet's performance on Sunday,I would be hesitant to use the term "best",of anything, in same sentence with Skeet. Fact is,given Skeet's performance on Sunday,FZ1 would have smoked Skeet,on the same water.
