I just pulled my truck down to the water.

Big gill for bait huh? I sure thought about it, I caught one about 5" long on a small jig, thought he'd go nice on a 1 oz c-rig out deep or a slip cork.

What kind of big "mammas" are you talking about catching there? Stripers or catfish? or both?

I am an noob for offshore fishing. I have to learn from WilsonB and IGS. Their Aug. 15th charter is booked full, two are in line to get in. I miss out on this one. So I have to try another time. I ordered my saragosa today, pick up phathom blade tomorrow, waiting to place an order for Tuf-line XP indicator (they are out of stock), learn how to tie Wind-on leaders on yuTube, etc. etc. Lot of work!!! Haha, it is fun.

Everyone is a damn noob. That's the great thing about fishing, it's ever evolving and ever changing. You are never too good or old to learn new things. One year, a specific bait/lure will be the ticket. Then the following year, that bait/lure won't get bit for chit! It's always like that. I think the fish are getting smarter and smarter every year. It's definately not as easy as it used to be.
