Old Grouch. But he's right that AOY should be for the year not 4 days. Make that the Championship.

Thank you for posting this! These crazy people can finally see a very respected person in the sport's point of view! And it is excactly correct and makes the most COMMON sense.

I think the statement he makes about being in the sport for 37 years and that Skeet's season was one of the best he's ever seen, speaks volumes. Clunn has fished against the best of them.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

Sounds like more people need to listen the Mr. Clunn. A legend and model of the sport of bass fishing, i would say his point is very spot on.

Ricky Clunn's reputation is unimpeachable. I listen to everything he says with eager anticipation.

No secret among the pros that they dislike the new AOY format. KVD's still the champion under the present structure. Sucks for Skeet but he had the same chance to win the post season as everyone else. Twice.

Skeet certainly deserves the props for one of the finest seasons of competitive bass fishing in history. Beyond that, I have no dog in the fight.

Amen to that Mr. Clunn!!!! AOY is for the regular season not a glorified buddies tournament. C-Mon BASS/ESPN!

This seems to be a big topic on here. I didn't pay that much attention to all the coverage of this but, in sports 99% of the time the mvp or other type award goes to the player on the team that wins the championship.

To me Skeet is the angler of the year. If they want a post season, utilize it with more anglers as a playoff to the classic.

Clunns the only one with the balls and backbone to make the comment

Most of these guys are so bland and sponsor money driven they can't speak out against anything

I like clunn. He's not afraid to put it like it is
