Yall don't get it. We fished our tournament championship today, three of us were concistantly in the money, placing, or big bass. Today someone won the chanpoinship who had only placed in the money one way or the other iocouple of times. Did we cry foul, no we manned up and shook the hand of the better person today. Should one of us be champion because we had a better season? Of course the answer is no, because we knew anyone could win today and we aren't sitting around crying about it. My wife is still proud of me for my success for the season.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

its like i said on a diffrent post. if the boys go 16-0 and choke in the first round to a 8-8 team do we give them a second chance? do we give the rangers the WS ring now? all it is everyone who is a fan of skeet is pissed because he didnt get on the fish when he needed to... and iam not taking anything away from skeet we all know he is a hell of a fisherman but even superman gets his butt whiped sometimes...all i can say is there is always next year skeet.

its called postseaon, "playoffs"...Should they just crown the Yankees every year for having the most wins thru the regular season? so why should skeet be crowned for having a good year?
Congrats to Skeet for a great year Congrats to KVD For having a great Postseason. Great example and I agree whole heartedly. ESPN simply needs to loose the name AOY. I'm not sure why but there are too many who can't seem to let go of the old definition of what the AOY WAS and move on. That aside, it appears to working as intended; create post season excitement.

Texan4Liberty- what yall had today was like a Bassmaster Classic. not a AOY race. Skeet deserves it. did skeet have a good past two tourneys? yeah but not as good as KVD but i think the whole post season is stupid.

not only that, Skeet started the postseason with 216 points, to KVD 185, He was rewarded for a better season..Kinda like home field advantage. Even Skeet was all for a post season, it seems the only people complaining are the fans who didnt see him win it all. Next year the tables may be turned and Skeet comes from behind, I guess then the postseason will be a good idea?

I bet you would have not manned up if you where fishing for 250,000 and got beat by him on the last tourney of the year you would be calling BS like the rest who thinks Skeet should have it. It's only been this way for two years go back to the old format.

Some of you guys act like y'all lost out on the first place money and not Skeet.
Bottom line is they fish for the big bucks and we don't. Who cares if they call it AOY. That is just splitting hairs. They know the format going in.

I think guys are losing sight of the new system and dragging the old system into their rationale. Fact is there is a new system at BASS and KVD won AOY.
Skeete wasn't cheated he got beat with everyone fishing under the same rules...

I didnt see anyone complaining at the beginning of the season about it, why complain now that you know the results.

This is kinda like the college bowl championship. It needs 1 more event. Fish off between year end leader(Reese) and Championship winner(KVD) Take them to Lake Brownwood that would test their skills!
Retirement best job ever.

Unless they changed the rules in the middle of the year and gave KVD an advantage that Skeet did not get, I would say KVD won it fair and square. Skeet fished by the same rules and came up short. Maybe next year, but to say KVD does not deserve it is ludicrous. He won it based on the rules of the game.
