FYI, For the guys that were wieghing the fish and had one that touched 14". I was most certian that it could touch so I came home and found it on Texas Parks and Wildlife. This cost you guys the tourny.

Bridgeport

•For largemouth bass, length limit is a 14-18 inch slot. Bass 14 inches and less or 18 inches or greater in length may be retained.
•Daily bag for all four species of black bass=5 bass in any combination.

Sounds good, but what were the tournament rules? Alot of them, such as media this past weekend stated that it couldn't touch 14"

From what I gathered we were going by state rules.

One guy even stated if you had one at fork that touched 16" they would take you to jail, never heard of going to jail over a fish.
I found that to be 16" and less also.

I was wondering the same thing, I threw a few back that were touching 14" but that's what the TD stated right before takeoff several times! Gotta go with what he says he is the one running the tournament.

You are right about the state rules, BUT Joe stated several times that a fish could NOT touch 14". TD rules orerrule state rules.

Another thing is most tournaments use one standard board but if they dont or a angler doesnt know what board they are using the "14in Line" Could be wider on a golden rule vs a pro rule or visa versa. Therefore the TD is trying to avoid any conflict and to make it easier just make it where nothing can touch 14" Just my .02 I could be totally off

Also helps if there might be a GW standing by at weigh in line.

I was the one weighing the fish and that was a real good friend of mine measuring my fish. Most people there thought that if it touched 14 in that it could not be weighed. My buddy told me sorry man but it was 14 in I did't want people to think we were cheating. We ended up getting 2nd place that was one of the best summer nights of fishing we have had in a while we got on the fish and when we did we were catching 12-14in fish every time. With the fish we had to throw back at the weigh-in line we would have had 6lbs hopefully the fish will be there next week.

Thursday night tournaments are ran by the guys that won the tourney the week before, so therefore there is not desinated td but if u wanna get technical the guys that tried to weigh the 14" was the guys running the tournament this week. So in my mind if there is no Td, we should of went by the state rules and them guys should of got their earned money. And anways Joe is the td for media tournaments this is over a workin man tourney.
