Just got back from a weeks vacation at Surfside. Keep in mind this was a VACATION, not a fishing trip. We were on the beach and I was up fishing every morning by 6:15am. Caught a few trout every morning. No limits, but brought a handful back. Water was green most of the trip with light winds. I would have thought the fishing would have been better with the ideal conditions we had.

Fished Wed night thursday morning. My son and I limited out on trout and caught a few smacks when the sun came up. It really turned on around 0500, shrimp were jumping out of the water everywhere, bait fish were scattering all over. Fished with lights.

Fished the surf there Friday morning 8/6 @ daybreak next to the jetty. Shrimp were popping the water everywhere. We caught about 8 keepers and plenty dinks on arties (tops and tails) and live shrimp. Moved to Access 3 about 9 am and caught a few more keepers w/ live shrimp.

Fished the 6 mile mark Sunday morning (8/8). Waves were low, no weed, about 15" visibility. Trout, whiting biting early but mostly small stuff. Caught 2 nice blacktips on mullet heads. Didn't hook the big red I was after, but good trip.

Go left from the ICW bridge about 5 - 6 miles down.
