 Sylvan beach pier report

I was at sylvan beach pier yesterday and spoke with one of the electrical contractors. He said they are putting the final touches and would be finished that day, however he did not know when they would officially open. The pier looks 100% complete with lights and everything so it Is probably any day now. FYI that pier is open until 10:00 pm.

From what I understand they are just waiting to get it inspected and then r ready 2 open, YEA!!!

Located Hwy 146 off of Fairmont Exit, La Porte Texas
Can't miss it as Fairmont dead ends into the Galveston Bay.
Should be a good spot for Crabbing in the evenings with the lights turned on in August.
A lot of bait fish there seen people catch some monster reds there. I have caught a few 20 -25 pound gafftops there.

Grew up there and could see Sylvan Beach from my math class while at school. Sat there waiting for the bell daily with a fishing pole in the back seat. Those were the days!!
Seen that peir blown away a few times. Can't wait to see the new one when I come back to visit!

Must be an old satellite map, trust me the pier is there. Contact them @ 281 471-5705

What is posted is closes at 10:00 P.M. .
I am not sure if this is accurate but I did speak with someone at the bait shop and he said during summer months they will be open all nite, including the bait shop.

I went to LP as well, from 1987 - 1991... spent more than a few afternoons fishing down there myself.

I just heard the pier won't be open till at least Monday 7/19/10. Apparently (just guessing) there is a little more work to do on the pier.

Linda's Sylvan Beach Bait & Tackle We will open the pier tomorrow morning at 6 am. Please make sure to have your fishing license, 2 rod per person, no loud music, NO ALCOHOL, no reclining chairs, no cast nets, no pets(unless seeing eye dog), EVERYONE MUST HAVE A PIER PASS. After 10 pm you will be able to ONLY use the pier after 10 pm & all traffic wi...ll have to come in baithouse gate after 10 pm. HC Sheriff's Dept will be here enforcing all rules.
