Anyone have feedback on Uncertain General Store & Grill? Looks like a cool place to eat. Are there any other restaurants on the TX side of Caddo Lake by Uncertain?

Jefferson has Auntie Skinners...it's tasty!
Shady Glade in Uncertain has food. Crips Camp (might) be open for breakfast. It's been years, but they have good mayhaw jelly.

I went there about 10 years ago. There used to be a real nice lady named "Miss Betty" that ran the place. I don't remember the food, but she was more than helpful in helping us find the fish. It was our first time there and she was nice enough to help us.

I feel like a dips&%t. They did a story about Caddo Lake in the paper a few weeks ago and had the location listed as Uncertain,TX. I thought the reporter was just tryin to say he was on the lake somewhere but not certain exactly where. I had no idea there was actually a town named Uncertain. I feel like a "mental giant" bout now.

Anyone have feedback on Uncertain General Store & Grill? Looks like a cool place to eat. Are there any other restaurants on the TX side of Caddo Lake by Uncertain? Not a restaurant. Have a soda fountain. Serve something called a Moody Dog, but I did not ask what it was. I go there strictly for ice cream in waffle cones. And to look at all the neat stuff they got for sale. There is a very very good BBQ place on the main road through town. i had the sampler last time and it is delicious. Auntie Skinner is a bar and grill I hear good things about but never been there. The Hamburger place is under different management and (strictly in MHO) just not as good as it used to be. Hwy 59 has the usual fast food places, Dairy Queen, Sonic, and McDonald's. Have not been to Uncertain to eat in years and do not know what is there anymore. Big Pines Lodge (world's best catfish restaurant) is still and will remain a pile of ashes (R. I. P, dammit).

There is a general store in Jefferson and a grill & general store in Uncertain according to websites. The place Grandpa 75672 is referring to sounds like Jefferson. I was there in Jefferson a couple weeks ago and it's a pretty cool store and with a soda fountain.

Big Pines Lodge (world's best catfish restaurant) is still and will remain a pile of ashes (R. I. P, dammit). So they not planning on rebuilding? Every time I was there it was plenty crowded.

From what I have heard, the owner lost her husband a few years ago and it took all she had to run it, lots of help from family and friends, she decided after the fire it was best for her to not re-open. That was strait from her mouth. Somebody should re-open it, the wait for a table was rediculous and the jalepeno hush puppies were delicious. R.I.P Big Pines
