Floating baskets are nice, so are the HookSet Stringers. I wade a lot of deep cuts and have been dragged and pulled by sharks on countless occasions. I will not tie anything on my person just not worth it. I also have a 15' long stringer so I can avoid any run ins with Jaws Jr.

Not all of us are meat-haulers, some of us are tournament fishermen...

So what, there are plenty of "tournament fishereman" that are also meat haulers. grin

Doesn't matter.

They are all anglers just having FUN no matter which way they string their fish.

cheers

And the OP's original question was how to keep them ALIVE on a stringer, not what you do with the fish you string...

I would use a 15-25ft stinger with the float on it and hook them under the lip. I would much rather the shark just take the stringer and leave then have them try to fight me over the fish in the basket.
