At the sight it looks like an owner AKI but I tied it on a team catfish jackhammer. super sharp and really strong for big mean toothy critters

They all look mighty fishy to me. I asked about the hook because it looked too short for a clouser. I would have had serious eye crowding problems with that short a shank.

Don't pay much attention to my head scratchings - that clouser looks like a serious fish catcher.

we missed this thread's birthday! it turned 1 year old 4 days ago!

I tied some more clousers today, with a couple little poppers to go with e'm.

little circle hook clouser

craw colored clouser

another

Now for the poppers.

A little nymph for carp and 'gills. The grey dubbing on the body is underfur I brushed off my Grandpa's cat mixed with some ice dub and peacock dubbing. Thorax is peacock dubbing with a peacock herl wingcase and soft hackle legs. Tail is peacock swords and the little feelers are rubber legs. This thing is really buggy looking!

And finally

I cannot believe this thread is a year old. I had no idea till you said it. It is a great thread though, lots of cool stuff on here. Pond Bass, your Clousers are just great. I really think you did a nice job on them. I like your tying shack too. I bet you spend a long time in there. Keep up the good work!

That one has an especially tall, shad-like, vertical profile to it. How do you get it . . . by stacking the material more than spreading it forward?

That is a mighty buggy looking nymph.

The 2nd popper begs the question - when was that last time you ate at or watched a Jack-in-the-box commercial?

Happy Birthday, thread!

It seems that all the best fly tiers use Peak vises. bolt

Speaking of Clear Cure Goo, I heard they are coming out with a non-tacky version in a couple of weeks. Now that is great...it just opens up more options for the fly tyers...I made some jig head clousers yesterday in size 4. They look pretty good. I used an epoxy on them to protect the eyes and thread. I believe I will try them today with Bug Bond, and see what the difference is. It takes a bunch more time, but I think they are a bit showier, and sturdier as well. My daughter must of taken off with my memory card from my camera, so I might have to resort to taking pictures with the old camera. I just hate that.
