what about SOB lures? Bill Dees makes his baits in his garage I believe. His spinner baits are very good. He is small company too.

Stanley jigs and spinnerbaits are very good products imho. Mr. Stanley was at the federation club tourney at Rayburn last year and gave us some of his products to try. Super person !

All lure companies I use have a name. They may not be as big as some companies but they make a very good product. I may leave out some due to lack of space. Gene Larew goes back to early 70's. They make a very good product. Smaller companies are what I consider new and trying to grow. 2 that come to mine that make a very good product and a will stand behind what they make are Hag's and Ezee jigs. Ezee still had pours and makes all thair own baits and Hag is making a very good plastic bait and will continue to grow and come out with many new products over the years. My 2 cents worth and 30 yrs. of being around the industry.

Oldham Jigs is probably Texas best small company, two people make including Terry, the owner work there, they pour the lead, paint the heads, and assemble everything themselves. And they ship all across the country. Terry will also build you custom rods. And great customer service. www.oldhamjigs.com Have not thought of these guys in a long time. Used to fish the screwlock weedless jig heads with Kalin Grubs. Are the Kalen Grubs still available? Checked on line and they have Kalin grubs at Bass Pro Wow Mark, I used to throw the exact same thing on Fork for many years[many years ago].Loved their product. Who carries them now?

I seriously considered not weighing in on this thread only because we consider ourselves to be a little out of the norm of aspirations for a small company. We don't aspire to ever get to a point where a machine will be needed to produce our products. So much so we no longer hand inject anything, strictly hand pour. I'm not going to shed a negative light on hand injection producers either, each to his own.
Our process alone doesn't allow us to produce the quantities needed to enter into a huge retail situation, if only I could buy an orchard of hand poured worm trees that I could harvest watermelon red from. Every worm I make goes through my hands at least 3 times in process, demold, de-flash (when I get in a hurry) and then packaging. Machines won't do this nor will it produce 30 of a color with a specific flake color.
Which leads me to this point, one of the mainstays of this industry is availability of products that we all have our confidence in, understandable. Brand loyalty is huge to a small company trying to carve out a niche for themselves. We understand this so much so we discontinued our craw in part do to this, but also because we respect those very people who we rely on to be customers. Case in point we received the "Cease and Desist" letter from Reaction Innovations. We pulled the product because we didn't want RI to sue us and then have to pay for their attorneys with anglers money.
Lastly, I'm just "arrogant" enough to believe I produce the best hand poured bait in Texas and in several other states but then "arrogance" is incorrect terminology. I call it confidence or believing in self, if I don't believe this way then what am I really doing and why? Money? yes and no, actually I get just as much satisfaction out of the kids down the street who score a few free worms telling me they caught fish on them at the local pond as I do from Bryan Thrift plugging our product. Might sound strange but those kids have to start somewhere, I just wish they'd ask and not steal them LOL.
My two favorite company owners that I've personally met and sat down with: Terry Oldhams & Mark Pack
Wow! Someone is full of themselves. Never heard of your company. I would think that the "BEST" hand poured baits in all the West wouldn't be such a secret.

Definitely check out SOB Lures. Bill makes some great spinnerbaits. You can't find a better tilapia spinnerbait for Falcon. He also does a great job custom painting cranks and spoons. Another plus, he sells Oldham jigs last time I checked, so you can check out two small companies on one website.

I figured a man that fished on the UT team would have said Pros Choice baits out of Round Rock.

They make quality product, but just wasn't for me. Then again, I've never caught a fish on a chatterbait either, so I'm probably not a very good example to follow, lol. On that note, check out Pro's Choice!
