What's a good (LOW PRESSURE) lake to spend a weekend at with the family? Not looking for any record setting bass, just something that produces good numbers so the boy can have fun. Looking for something around 3hrs out of DFW

Any ideas?

Athens for numbers. Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center right next door. Good catfish at the restaurant next to the RV park. A fun weekend.

Caddo is right a 3 hours. Went there last week and it was crowded but doubt it would be to bad now.

It's more than 3 hours away but it is my favorite lake, broken bow out in eastern Oklahoma. It's probably 5 hours but it is a gorgeous lake and not a ton of people are out there. You will see some pleasure boats but you can get away from them. Lots of schooling bass in the summer and lots of deer and crystal clear water.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll be checking them out(google). I did notice Broken Bow on the map. That one is far, but dang it looks purty.

Let your wife choose the lake, then she can't blame you if she doesn't have a good time. thumb

Broken Bow for sure. 4hrs away. Your family will think they are somewhere in the Northwest w/ tall pines, log cabins, crystal clear lakes, smallmouth, even a few bears there. Well worth the money for the family!
