It's always a good idea to have the local game wardens numbers in your cell phone so they can help out in the conversation smile

That's a time to whip out the cell phone and start recording some F bombs. Get close enough to him to get some real good video and then go visit the tournament director and then his sponsor.

There are some bad apples in every sort of group. But I will say that over the last few years I see many many more polite tournie guys than I do the average fisherman.I also see the average tounie fisherman obey all the rules on the water MUCH more than the average guy.It is still unfortunate that in this situation it escalated to this point.Maybe the guy thought that he was being crowded or something. But he still could have been more diplomatic about it.

If someone threatened to shoot you, and you drew first, is that good enough to be called self defense. I dont know what I'd do if someone threatened to shoot me, but I certainly wouldn't turn my back until the threat was gone, either by me getting out of there or calling his bluff.

Hate to hear it Bill, I did hear of a pretty similiar situation that went on during that same tournament that involved a local Rayburn guide and him being pissed about someone fishing near "his" brushpile, might even be the same situation, either way hate that your bro had to be involved in this kind of dumb during one of his visits to big "R"

I always stay away from lakes during tournaments. It's something about cash payouts that brings out the absolute worst in people.
It's so cut-throat that they'd just as soon run you over than lose a fish.

+1 Anyone that hunts or fishes should always have quick access to the local game warden. They will not hesitate to take out the bad guys
