Calcutta 200A on a 7 foot Castaway "light saltwater" ( blue rod wrapping) most of the time. 14-17 lb clear Stren mono with a 12-18 inch steel cable leader.

For jetties or deep bottom fishing , a Penn 750 ssm on an Abu Garcia "Bruiser" or a Bass Pro Power plus.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

for tossing plastics, i use a medium 7 ft allstar poppin rod with a 5500 abu.

for topwater i use a 6'6 falcon meduim action with a shimano cardiff.

for live bait, i've recently been converted to using a 8 foot medum action castaway rod with a shimano calcutta, using 20 lb test braid

I have a lot of different gear I have used. New gear and older gear. Loomis rods, St Croix, a lot of them custom rods I have built. Have various Core reels, Curados, Chronarchs, Revos, too many to name them all.

For wade fishing for trout and reds I use a custom 8 1/2 foot rod I built with a Revo inshore for my workhorse rod, I just love the long rods. For light plastics I use a 50 MG with a Loomis 7 foot rod I built. And for throwing flies I mostly use a Loomis IMX 4-piece, 8 weight rod armed with an Abel 3N anti-reverse, and Scientific Anglers Redfish specialty line.

But my favorite setup is just an old Lew's BB-1N reel on an old All Star T40X rod.

I love the old school gear. Wouln't trade that All Star T40X rod and Lew's BB-1N reel setup for anything.

7' Lone star trout tammer1 for smaller twitch baits, 6'6" All Star IM 10 for everything else. An old fashioned Mitchell Garcia 300 spinning on the Allstar and shimano sonoro spinning on the tammer1. Anything other than the Zebco 202 would be fine I think. Keep line at about 14lb's you should be ok

Waterloo HP light and Shimano Chronarch 50mg. I mostly wade with tops and tails.

Abu Revo STX on a TTF trout rod on the boat. Or Abu 5500 on Wright & McGill cranking stick for wading.
