After waiting on hold for about an hour, I finally got a fellow who told me they no longer offer replacement tips. I have a G Loomis MBR 844C. Anyone know a good replacement tip and the correct size for that rod? Service seems to have changed. Thanks!

I might try the email. The guy I talked to sounded a bit new.

Went frog fishing last night, caught a 5lber, didnt even swing it then caught a 2 1/2 lber. didnt swing it it was fighting on the way back in and my tip 2 eyes down popped, not even on the hookset, happened to the last one as well, I just have to send it in and get a replacement, i love the rod when it actually works.

Sent an email, will let y'all know what they say. Have the blanks changes since the sell to Shimano. Is a GLX today the same as a GLX from 3-5 years ago?

Camfro, what model are you using?

I think other than the Reciol type guides they use Fuji guides. Pretty easy to order from Mudhole or even Barlows. Just ask guide size. its probably actually on their site. Real easy to change out as well.

7-5 heavy so it is a stiff rod but it still shouldnt break from simply fight a fish just playing it not even horsing it in, this will be my 3rd or 4th one. Im not hard on my rods so Im pretty sure there were no stress cracks or anything like that. Just disappointed.

Ordered replacement tips from Mud Hole. Never heard a word back from Loomis after using the email option. It's been a couple of days now. Fellas, I think I have bought my last Loomis. Part of the reason I spent the extra money was for the service. I am less than impressed with my most recent experience. I do love their rods.

Well it looks like they really aren't giving them out anymore. Below is the email they sent back to me asking why they sent me one but didn't send you one.

Justin,

We reply to every email. There is a strong possibility that my response went to his spam or junk mail folder. We recently stopped sending replacement guides. He can send the rod in for repair, or he can source the guide locally for about $5-10.

Checked all areas of email, no response. BTW, my xpediter rod has not arrived yet either. Guess that 2 day shipping is off too now.
