It seems we are in the "waiting to hear back from h&w" phase, so in the meantime, we should start thinking about lakes to propose. I would think a big lake with plenty of lodging. Sam Rayburn TBend - although boats might get tore up Texoma - not sure about lodging Amistad - probably too far
let's hear some ideas and votes

its only like 10 bucks and i think that is just to cover the paperwork on it with them, i dont mind paying it for sure, did strike me as odd though, but i guess someone could just borrow one for a triton tourny or something, just something else i guess to deal with.
I didn't think about someone borrowing one. That makes a bit more sense. I'd gladly pay the $10 too, but it's just the perception of having to pay to register it to get in the tournament I guess.

My vote would be Amistad. Yeah it's a long drive, for those of us in North Tx, but the sheer size will allow for a large tournament to be held without "too" much overcrowding.
Not only that, Amistad presents a good challenge to folks because you've got areas with vegetation, good underwater structure, and bass both shallow and deep.

It is going to be on Belton as soon as Texas Boat World gets the Harker Heights chamber to step up.
Cmon Cliff get Mary to work on this. Like the week after Fishing for Freedom.

I like Palestine, Rayburn and Ray Roberts these lakes are somewhat central. Another thought that would be a little different Bob Sandlin, Cypress Spring and Monticello. Make it a trailering tournament and fish the lake of your choice.
Amistad sounds like fun; dont get me wrong I want to fish that lake some day. With the current problems on the boarder it could be a deterrent; theres a safety factor. Not to mention the distance for us North Texas guys. I would suggest a lake centrally located so the event will draw as more entries. I like Fork because its my home field; but as we all know home advantage does not apply to bass fishing. Fork also has two problems; slot fish and to many tournaments; I can fish a tournament every weekend if I want.

Owner Mark Hughes will be back off vacation thursday and most likely will be back in the store in Marshall.
Let everyone that would like to have a Triton Owner tournament here in Texas go to hwmarine.com web site and post on it that they would be in on it.

Format is something to think about and vote on as well. One or Two days Friday and Saturday, Saturday and Sunday or Saturday only (one day). Team or combo team & individual; five fish stringer or ten fish stringer.
A combination of teams and individuals with a five fish per day stringer is good for several reasons, 1) less fish to handle and easier on the fish, 2) this allows individuals to compete in the tournament, 3) It brings the competition closer together for teams or individuals having trouble finding fish to catch.
A two day Friday Saturday event is good for several reasons, 1) less weekend boaters on the lake Friday, 2) Saturday finish allows for an after party and time to rest up for the drive home Sunday, 3) for the hard core fisherman you can get up Sunday morning and go fishing again.
