Can you clean fish that you have caught while you are still on the water in your boat?
It is unlawful to clean (remove the head, tail, fillet) your catch of fish until the fish is finally landed on the mainland (not including piers, jetties) and no longer transported by boat.
Taken from TPWD website under FAQ. Wow, I didn't know that. I guess I better be careful with it. Neat little idea, but not worth the headache of having to look over your shoulder while using it. Actually, I've known GW's to view from a distance with binoculars.... I wouldn't use it on the water - period.

that would be good to set a little coleman cook stove on, a lantern, a bait cutting station, ect, great job. From what I gather you have to be on the bank when you clean the fish. Whether or not you can legally dump the guts back into the lake from where they came, well you cant get a straight answer from anybody on that one., I dont think there is a law against it, but some people would consider it dumping. It depends on whatever the person carrying the badge and gun that day decides it will be.,
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

The boat house issue might be a tangled web. In Texas a person's boat house is considered private property just like the land it is connected to. If it is illegal there are thousands of lake property owners breaking the law on a regular basis.

I think you could get away with it if you are cleaning them right at the boat launch.
This raises an interesting question. Say I am out on the 315 bridge(large old concrete bridge you can walk on) at Palestine and I got friends and a fish fryer out there on it too...you know where this is going, and I am SURE someone has done it a bunch of times, too.
Some people just like catching. I like fishing.

I don't know a fryer with several quarts/ gallon of hot oil on a moving boat with people on it. Don't sound like a well thought out plan to me.
Just reread last post nevermind.

If it is illegal there are thousands of lake property owners breaking the law on a regular basis. From what I understanding it depends on whether the dock is a fixed or floating structure.

I was going to say that it looks like a nice bait cutting board. I could use one for chumming. It is definitely illegal to fillet gamefish on the water. I am not sure if you could even fillet non-game fish like perch and yellow bass unless maybe you left the hide on.

I'd take those 3 in a 7-fish string anytime Come on over, maybe Keyboard left a few, just not under any of the docks I've been crappie fishing this lake since before it filled up but it wasn't till I got mixed up with a bunch of crazies (TFFers) that I started looking anywhere besides the bridges and visible timber for the fish so I'm kind of a rookie at some techniques. I'll be glad to show you the 4 bridges and some "wood-lots" that I lurk around. As for a "fast" limit...I'm too fat to do much of anything fast except maybe , but we can give it a go.
