so there's an outside chance someone could get "pounded" by a really big striper on CC or would the "left-overs" live long enough to make it to 40-50 pounds today?

A lot of good fish guys. Have any of you ever fished Lake Cumberland in SE Ky or Norris in TN? I believe the record for that area is around 56 or 57 lbs. They catch a lot of them 40+ from the Cumberland tailwaters. My personal best is only 20lbs but I have only fished for them 3 or 4 times. My brother caught a 32lb striper about 4 years ago fishing in the headwaters of a creek. The two of them caught 7 that day that weighed 135lbs! I went the next weekend (go figure) and caught 3 but the 20 was the largest one.

Nope didn't no that. I do Know that JimmyLaGrand has cought the last to record Hybrds on that lake. I'll catch it for this but he Gene Reynlds are the best fisherman on that lake. Billy Seaman knows them. Buddy don't troll. Gene does but just because he fishes with Professor.Who we all no is the best troller on the lake. And you can't count out Howard Ellis. He is probably the toughest fisherman out there at 75yrs old he's like a bulldog. He and Buddy LaGrand get there limit everyday out there with a hopkins. and nothing else. Now you look at these old men and you will see the best fishermen standing anywhere. I'll put them against anybody. Now thats the dream team!! Hope my spelling is good enough to talk on the forum. If not you can correct me.And I appreicaite it. Your friend Bob Holm

Water quality and depth are not good enough to grow a big striped bass. Give RC another 100' of depth then you might see something. Wouldn't doubt at all that there are some Striper in the 20# range though. As for Hybrids, I pick RC as the next state record lake, it is only a pound and a quarter off now.

Hey Bob, you are supposed to bu the DREAM TEAM IN ALL CAPS Super guys, not 100% on Howard fishing by himself, but I did not know him and finally got to talk to him this year, nice man. Complete polar opposites of the Dream Team, I think Billy calls them the B team, but one thing they have in common, they are probably the top 4 on the lake in my books. The professor waved me over one day frantically, but I did not see him until they had boated the 22nd hybrid in about 20 minutes and the fish were gone. To change the subject, I have said since last year when I first came to RC and met you and I fished with Doyle, that it seemed to me that RC had the charateristecs to become a great hybrid lake and with more being put in there, then I will be fishing there more often...
