I am specifically looking at a 1995 Ray Craft Fiberglass V-186 with a Mariner 2-stroke series 115ELPTO.

Made in San Augustine, TX and were great boats back in the early days of Rayburn and Toledo Bend. Started trying to build modern boats in the 80's and 90's and could not compete and went out of business. I would guess old school build with a lot of wood. Wood is not necessarily a bad thing if done correctly in the beginning and stored and maintained later. I would have it checked out by a pro stucturally. Transom, floor, and stringers could be problem areas.

Other area you need to check is the shape of the engine, but do not not forget to have the trailer checked. If it is a tube trailer, check for internal rust. Also, not sure what the Kansas laws are, but if your state requires a title, make sure all paperwork is current. Also, parts for Raycrafts will be non existant, so just keep that in mind.

Owned one for five years and never had any issues. Champ hull never took on a spoonful of water. Not the greatest in rough water but would go places bigger boats couldnt. Super sound construction.

At one time, there were just about more of these on T-Bend than any other brand. I had one of the old bathtub style and it was a great boat for its time.

New PB: 10 lbs. 13 oz. Lake Falcon
Old PB: 10 lbs. 4 oz Lake Falcon
PB: Ind Sack 38 lbs. 4 oz
PB: Team Sack 41lbs. 12 oz.

I had a 15 footer with a 70 Johnson and it was good small bass boat. It looked like the older Rangers and was just fine in smooth water. Like Hawg Dawg said I believe it originally came from a dealer in East Texas-maybe St. Augustine or Lufkin...not a bad boat

For whatever it's worth, we ended up buying the boat. clap I will have to post some pics here. In my search, I just could not find any info or pics of the style/model I got. Basically looks just like an early 90's Champion.

Here is the craigslist ad for it. The pics suck though. I will put up some of my own pics when I get a chance.

Here are some pics as promised. It was really humid when I took these pics and I think my lens fogged up on the first few pics.

If they built them in 1995 like they did in 1982, you should be good. I had a 15' tri hull that was a floating tank. The boat outlasted the engine, and it had an excellent engine (Spirit 65).
