They are heading that way with the new passses and renewals.

What's any different about it than having to walk into a store to pay your $5 ramp fee and get a piece of paper to put on your dash (Holiday Marina - Lake Tawakoni)? I take extra envelopes at Tawakoni SP and pre-fill them out at the house to help save time. I still have to get out and walk over to put the money in the box.

Yea, that's it....we all need something to biotch about. This new policy is stupid. As someone mentioned earlier, we purchase the passes so that the process is easier for us. This is just another hinderance. Rather than inconvenience the people who pay $60 or more for passes, why not have the person in the booth there when the gates open, with a clicker counting heads that come through?

Here's the update:
Went to Ray Roberts today and asked the park manager what is going on with the passes. She said we have to get the new swipe cards which have no name, i.d. number or anything on them visible to identify someone. We have to show a drivers license to identify ourselves, then they will give us a slip of paper which has the date we arrive and number of days we are staying that must be placed on the drivers side window. If there is not a park attendant, then we have to fill out the day slip just as before, which is odd to me since we don't have a number to identify us. She said they go by our name and address. I said you ever heard of someone moving?
What a bunch of B.S.!!! Our tax dollars actually paid for someone to come up with this? They can't even mail our new cards and a letter explaining how it all will work? TP&W really dropped the ball on this one!!!

Huge pain in the butt. Im gonna put that I have 20 people in my truck everytime just to screw with their numbers. I grabbed a hand full of them and I'm gonna prefill them out to keep from having to do it at the ramp. Still have to get out and shove it in the box which will always be so full you cant get it in there.

I forgot to mention that this is for ALL Texas State Parks, not just Ray Roberts.

What are they going to do to you if you don't do it? I dropped nearly $80 on two annual passes last week. The pass looks different.... but they didn't say anything about this. I will simply throw any notes I get on my windshield in the trash.

I want to let you know that we have just implemented a new automated revenue and registration system in all of our parks. As a new system, it still has some kinks that we are having to address. We want to hear about any problems our customers and constituents are having with the system. It sounds like you are having one of those issues, and I will make sure we get you an answer as soon as possible.

Pass is only good for up to 15 people, might not want to go over it. Knowing TPWD, they will probably try to make you pay for it somehow.

They are just going to start writing you tickets. They will have no way of knowing that you have a pass. You will no longer have the pass that hangs off the mirror. They take that from you when you have to change to the new credit card type pass.



I'm wondering what IDB is going to look like saturday with all the 3 timers coming out for memorial day. There will be people lined up on 455 trying to get in all because of this. It takes about 4-5 times as long to get through the gates now.
