Have not tried many places, but the Hook & Ladder @ Firehouse Subs is pretty good.

as far as Rowlett goes there really isn't a good sub shop around actually wish I had the money to open one. I worked at a place called Thundercloud Subs based out of Austin that is incredible and learned alot. I personally like making my own with as many different toppings and what not that I like.

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

Thundercloud opened a shop up near my work in Houston 15 years or so ago. It lasted about 6 months before it closed down. It was the worst sub's I had ever had. I'm thinking everybody else was in agreement since they couldn't keep the doors open.

You'd have to do some pretty good talking to get me to try them again.

My opinion on the best sandwich chain at this time is Jimmy John's. Simple, fresh and the bread is fantastic.

Jimmy Johns are pretty good as far as Chains go.

There used to be a great neighborhood sub joint in Lewisville. I can't remember the name of it, but their sandwiches were excellent. It was right across from Lewisville High School if anyone knows the place, but it's been gone a few years now.

If you ever get a chance to eat lunch at Dino's Subs in Arlington on Collins St for gosh sakes take it! Best sub I have ever had! All the meat is fresh cut for your sandwich and the toppings are super fresh. Nice people too.

Ceros Heros in Grapevine... They are under new ownership so they are actually open when they say they are going to be open. With the change in ownership about a month ago came a new addition... All Boars Head Meats and Cheeses. YUMMY!

Seen that place plenty of times, but haven't yet stopped there. Guess I'm gonna have to give it a try!

Captain Nemo's in Irving, best steak sub in the world, they make their own bread with no additives, get the house special with cheese, mushrooms and the works.

Its not a sub shop persay, but I just found this place on Matlock and turner warnell in arlington that has terrific cheesesteaks. Its called Donnie's. The lady who owns it is from Youngstown, PA and had a cheesesteak stand outside the courthouse there for years. She got zoned out or something and they ended up here. One of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. Right up there with the one that an ex-girlfriend brought me back from Philly on a plane w/ her after visiting her mom there.

Another vote for Nemo's. We used to go to the one in Denton when it was still open.

Great Sub

Great Out Doors is good for a chain. Nicks in Lewisville has a good ham and cheese sub those goes awesome with their house italian dressing.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Wonder why Thundercloud hires all those creepy kids with stainless steel face jewelry?
