It will be ready enough in a week in this heat. Gets better after that. A couple of coffee cans worth will tell you if they are coming. I look for water 12-16 feet deep near structure or drop offs. They could be really shallow too it is spawn time. I have put it shallow and pitched a cork to it. There may be lots of little ones mixed in so be careful not to send the lad to mom with a sore hole in his palm.

I'm a catfish guide on Lake Palestine, and hands down sour milo is the best. My clients and I have limited out everytime over the past few weeks over my milo holes. In the last 6 years we have caught thousands of good eating size cats over the milo. We never moved from one hole today and left them biting after our limit.

As far as range cubes are concerned, I've had alot of luck with dumping them into a hole, and waiting maybe 10-12 hours.

Thanks guys, Mine looks like it's boiling now. Gonna try to find a small bleach bottle or something to make a scoop, and see if the range cubes will get the perch into the trap. Ought to. The bag should last a Loooong time.:)
