Texas Cichlids AKA Rio Grande Perch. These two were caught out of a creek in Brackettville, TX.

and

The second one was in my aquarium for four years.
Of course if you want to drive to the FL canals, they have loads of cool looking fish, mostly exotic like this one:

I think it's a copper nose bluegill. There are a lot of them at fairfield.

Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time.

This was one of the best ones caught Sunday. He was right at 9" with thick sholders. Some of them had blood red bellys. Caught some fat shellcrackers too.

The day I don't charge my camera I catch the really bright red/blue sunfish.. I'm charging it right now and I'm going down there today hopefully.. If my cellphone wasn't so bad you'd see the more bright colors to it.

I caught a sunfish today and had no idea what it was..

Body of a greenie, big blueish mouth, and all of it's fins were black.. Any ideas??

Greengill? Peacock sunfish? Wife caught this hog of a green sunfish today, never seen one with verticle bars before.
